A Glantz-ing Blow

Matt Glantz - Eliminated
Matt Glantz - Eliminated
Matt Glantz lost most of his stack when he bet 2,200 on a board of {2-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {3-Clubs}. His opponent raised all in for nearly 8,000 and Glantz thought for a little while before calling. He was unable to best his opponent's {10-Spades} {10-Clubs} and Glantz was left with just 475. He was eliminated shortly thereafter.

Simmons Can't Move Young Off Tens

Todd Terry raised the action up preflop from middle position and was called by Joe Simmons on the button, Jason Young in the small blind, and the big blind. The four players witnessed a flop of {Q-Spades} {5-Hearts} {3-Hearts} before checking over to Simmons.

Simmons fired out 2,000 and only Young made the call.

The turn and river were both checked as two kings fell; first the {K-Spades} and second the {K-Hearts}.

"I can't beat much," announced Simmons before Young rolled over {10-Clubs} {10-Hearts}. Simmons mucked his hand.

Frangos Calls the Clock... on Himself

Alex Nepomnyaschiy

Nick Frangos raised up the action to kick things off from middle position. He made it 1,250 to go and was called by Alex "Jedi" Nepomnyaschiy in the small blind and the big blind. The three players would take a flop of {Q-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {3-Diamonds}.

Nepomnyaschiy checked, as did the big blind. Frangos continued with a bet of 2,625. Nepomnyaschiy made the call while the big blind ducked out of the way.

The turn brought the {6-Spades} and Nepomnyaschiy checked. Frangos let another bullet go and made it 5,000. As soon as Frangos' bet hit the felt, Nepomnyaschiy announced "all in." Frangos stayed calm while he thought about the hand and studied Nepomnyaschiy.

After a couple of minutes went by, Frangos began to look disturbed by the bet. He stayed in the tank for another couple minutes before he called for the clock on himself. "Sorry guys, but I'll sit here all day," he said.

Frangos tanked for the remainder of the one-minute clock and folded with just about three seconds left. Nepomnyaschiy showed Frangos the {8-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} for a turned two pair.

Frangos is down to 9,500 chips.

Young Loses One

Jason Young bet out 1,625 after his opponent checked on a board of {Q-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}. His opponent made the call.

After the river brought the {5-Hearts}, completing a possible flush, Young's opponent checked again. Young fired 3,000 and his opponent called.

"I got a ten, bro," announced Young. His opponent turned up {J-Hearts} {9-Spades} for a king-high straight to scoop the pot.

Back From Dinner

We're back from dinner break and all the players are gradually making their way to their seats. 164 players remain in the event and the cards are in the air.

Aces Score Big for Bianco

According to one of the players seated at the table, a player opened for 600 from middle position before Benny Bianco reraised to 1,500. Action folded back around to the original raiser and he made the call.

After the flop came down {J-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {3-Diamonds}, the two players quickly got all in. Bianco held pocket aces against his opponent's {A-Hearts} {J-Clubs}.

The turn paired the board with the {3-Hearts} and the river fell the {9-Hearts}. Bianco's aces were able to hold and he picked up a nicely sized pot. He now has just over 40,000 chips.
