Break

The players are on their first 15-minute break. When we return, we'll have the official numbers on field size and the prize pool as registration is now closed.

A Strange Hand

We caught this hand just as five players limped into the pot with blinds of 50/100.

On the flop of {2-Clubs} {K-Spades} {8-Spades}, the action checked to the player in middle position, who bet 1,850. The pot was raised by the cut-off, who bumped the action to 4,025. It was then reraised to 10,025 by Matt Graham from the small blind. The player in middle position (MP) called all in for his last 3,875 and the cut-off (CO) went deep into the tank.

After a minute's thought, MP told the CO to, "Hurry up, because I want to go home."

The CO responded, "If I haven't decided in a minute, call the clock."

A minute later, the clock was indeed called and, eventually, the CO's cards hit the muck after he timed out of the hand. When the remaining two hands were turned up, MP showed {7-Spades} {6-Spades} for a flush draw, while Graham showed {2-Spades} {3-Spades} for bottom pair and a worse flush draw.

The turn was a blank and, when the {K-Diamonds} hit the river, Graham's pair of deuces took down the pot, much to the CO's dismay. He said he folded {K-?} {2-?} for what would have been the winning two pair.

Another Big Pot for Fung

Steven Fung was involved in another big pot. This time the board read {J-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {6-Hearts} on the turn. Fung checked. The next player to act bet 1,500, and Moshin Charania called from the button. Fung then put in a raise to 7,500. The first opponent folded and Charania called rather quickly.

The river brought the {2-Spades}, and Fung announced he was all in. Charania had a little under 7,000 remaining and went into the tank.

"You flop it?" he questioned.

"I can beat two pair and a small set," he said after another minute of thinking.

Eventually Charania folded, claiming to have folded a set of eights.

"I'll show you one time," said Fung. He revealed top set with pocket jacks. He is now up to 55,000 in chips.

Lindgren Takes a Hit

On a board of {8-Spades} {7-Clubs} {9-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} with about 2,000 already in the pot, E-Dog check-called a bet of 3,000 from an opponent in middle position.

Erick checked the river, which brought the {4-Hearts}, and then again called his opponent's 10,500 bet. His hand went unseen into the muck after his opponent tabled {J-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} for the six-card straight.

That pot continued Erick's self-proclaimed "terrible" performance so far, bringing his chip stack down to just over 6,000.

The Fung-us Grows

After some preflop action, the flop read {8-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} when Steven Fung got into a raising war with Michael Skomac. The war consisted of tanking and multiple raises. Eventually, their cards were turned up with Skomac at risk.

Showdown:
Skomac: {8-Hearts} {4-Hearts}
Fung: {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}

The turn was the best card in the world for Fung, the {K-Spades}. The river was the meaningless {A-Spades}. Skomac quickly got up and exited the room.

That pot was one of the biggest seen thus far and put Fung up to 44,000 chips.

The Dragon Takes a Pot

With blinds at 50/100, David 'The Dragon' Pham raised to 300 preflop and got a call from a player in middle position. The flop came {A-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} {9-Diamonds}. Pham led out for 400 and was quickly called.

Both players checked the turn, which came {8-Hearts}. Pham check-called the river after the {9-Hearts} hit the board. The player in late position turned over {J-?} {10-?} for a busted straight and Pham turned over {K-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} for two pair and a nice pot.
