After doubling up Matt Brady earlier, Matt Ross just doubled up with pocket sevens against pocket threes. He was severely short after doubling up Brady, but now is up to 21,500.

Brent Carter moved all in on the short stack in preflop action and was called by Eric Cloutier. Cloutier held aces against Carter's smaller, middle pair and the aces held up.

Carter was eliminated with Cloutier moving up to 67,000.

Shuffle Up and Deal

WSOP Media Director Nolan Dalla took just a minute before play kicked off to recognize Howard "Tahoe" Andrew, who is in the field today. Tahoe has played in 37 consecutive World Series of Poker, and this year will mark his 38th. That is easily the longest running streak of any man alive.

When the microphone was handed to him, Tahoe said smugly, "Shuffle up and deal!" and with that, Day 2 is underway.

Almost Set for Day 2

Good morning, and welcome back to Harrah's New Orleans for the continuation of the WSOP Circuit Championship Event!

This is the final stop on the Circuit trail this season, and it certainly is shaping up to be a thrilling conclusion. The story of the day yesterday was, who else, Dwyte Pilgrim. Down to just 3,000 early in the day, Pilgrim would work his way up over the 100,000-chip mark within just a few levels. Fast forward to 11:30pm, and with just a half hour left in the day, Pilgrim was crippled down to just 9,400 in a massive confrontation with Shaun Deeb. Miraculously though, by the end of play, Pilgrim had taken over second place in the room, surpassing Deeb in the process.

Billy Kopp starts play with the chip lead, holding 271,000. The players are trickling into their seats and unbagging their chips. Play should be underway in just a few minutes.
