The Ladies Love Shaun Deeb

Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb
We pick up the action on the flop in a heads-up pot between Shaun Deeb and Charles Wight. When the first three community cards came out {3-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {7-Hearts}, Deeb kicked things off with a bet of 1,100. From the button, Charles Wight came over the top with a re-raise to what looked like 4,000, and Deeb called.

Fourth street came the {8-Diamonds}. Deeb slowed down this time, check-calling a bet of 3,500 from Wight. The river was the {4-Clubs}, and both players checked. Wight tabled {9-Spades} {9-Clubs} for the overpair. It was no good though; Deeb showed down {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}, good enough to earn him the pot with the bigger pair.

On the very next hand, five people saw a flop of {2-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {6-Clubs}. Deeb led out from early position with 2,100 chips, and an opponent raised to 5,000. When it folded back around to Deeb, he check-raised to 20,000, enough to put his man all in. The unknown player quickly called, turning over {2-Spades} {2-Clubs}. To everyone's surprise, Deeb tabled the exact same {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} that he held the last hand; the difference this time was that Deeb was well behind his opponent's set of deuces. The turn and river blanked off, and what the queens gaveth, the queens tooketh away from Shaun Deeb. After all that chip movement, he is still steady at 32,000.
