Double KO for Billirakis

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

Life's good for Steve Billirakis. He just took out two players when his aces held from the button. One player limped into the pot from middle position before the cutoff raised all in to 1,275. Billirakis made just bigger than a minimum-raise to 2,200. The big blind then put in the fourth bet to 5,500, folding the original limper.

Action passed back to Billirakis, who carefully considered his action before making a large raise to about 15,000. The big blind quickly shoved the rest of his stack into the middle (roughly that same extra 10,000), then let out an expletive when he saw Billirakis' {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}. The big blind opened {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}; the cutoff had {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}. It wasn't without a sweat for Billirakis, but a board of {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts} allowed him to take the whole pot. He's now up to about 60,000.

Cunningham Eliminated

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

On a board of {K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-}-X-{3-Hearts}, Allen Cunningham bet 6,000. His opponent, Michael Traylor, moved all in for 11,000 and Cunningham folded, leaving himself short.

On the next hand, was all in preflop with the {A-Spades}{6-Spades} and called by the {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. The board ran out {Q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Cunningham was eliminated.

Dao Gets Rings, but Drops a Pot

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

Miller Dao fired 5,150 on the board of {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and his opponent made the call to see the {A-Hearts} fall on the river. Dao couldn't fired this time and checked. His opponent checked behind. Dao mucked after his opponent tabled the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} for queens and nines, dropping back to 33,500.

Dao took ninth place in the WSOP Circuit Regional Championship in Rincon for $24,235. That final table earned him a spot in the National Championship at the end of the season, but Dao wasn't about to sit back. He just took down the $1,090 No-Limit Hold'em ring event here at Caesars yesterday for a cool $55,202.

Stann Still Using and Abusing

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

Dave Stann has been absolutely abusing the players on his right when he has been in late position today. He was at it again after the hiijack player opened to 1,100 pre-flop. Stann, with next action, made it 2,725 to go. Only the hijack called. Both players checked all the way to the river, {k-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{3-Spades}, where Stann finally made a bet of 5,500 after his opponent checked. The player quickly folded to the bet.

"The only reason he played his hand that way is because it's his job to steal my blind, not yours," said the player in the big blind to the hijack.

Gold Gone

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

No joy for Jamie Gold today. In his first event with his new PPN Team Pro patch, Gold's went to the rail when an opponent's pocket 9s overtook Gold's pocket aces with a 9 on the flop. We're not sure when the money went in, but the end result is the same either way. Gold is out of the tournament.
