Pause for Re-Draw

Level 22 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

With the elimination of Steve Heeley in 28th place, the tournament is on a pause for the three-table re-draw. We'll have all the new seat assignments (and fresh chip counts) after the re-draw is complete.

Dzhigarkhanyan Gets There on the Turn

Level 22 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Stepan Dzhigarkhanyan has been active for the last orbit, moving all in several times. On his latest shove, Matthew Leecy opened pre-flop with a minimum-raise to 20,000 that button player Derrick Kuenzel called. Dzhigarkhanyan then shoved from the small blind for 135,000. Leecy asked for a count, then announced that he was all in as well. Kuenzel sighed and folded, taking the table to showdown:

Leecy: {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Dzhigarkhanyan: {k-Clubs}{6-Hearts}

Leecy flopped a ten to take the lead, {3-Hearts}{7-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, but Dzhigarkhanyan spiked a king on the turn with the {k-Spades} and held on through the {j-Hearts} river. He doubled up to about 300,000.

Johnson Over One Million

Level 22 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

From under the gun, Lance Oliver raised to 27,000. His only customer was Chris Johnson in the cutoff seat and the two saw a flop of {Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. Oliver continued with a bet of 50,000 and Johnson made the call.

From there, the action shut down. Both players checked the {9-Clubs} on the turn and the {2-Diamonds} on the river. Johnson tabled the {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and Oliver mucked his hand.

That pot put Johnson over one million in chips and he now has 1.05 million. Oliver slipped back to 322,000.

Four-Way Pot Goes to Liu

JJ Liu
JJ Liu

Four players were in action on the flop of {A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades} when we arrived at the table. Those four players were, in order, David Williams, Adam Hui, JJ Liu and Alex Santiago. Action checked over to Liu and she bet 27,000. Only Williams made the call.

The turn brought the {5-Diamonds} and both players checked. The river completed the board with the {8-Diamonds} and both checked again.

Liu tabled the {A-Spades}{6-Spades} and Williams mucked to give her the pot.

Williams Doubles through Hui

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Adam Hui has chips to burn, but that doesn't mean he's going to just give them away. He opened to 17,000 from under the gun with pocket 8s, then decided to go for the kill when button player David Williams moved all in for 136,000. Williams showed down {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and won the race to double up to 280,000.
