Two years ago right here in Rincon, the mainstream poker world was introduced to the name Dwyte Pilgrim. Then just a scrappy amateur from New York, Pilgrim quickly put his face on the front pages of poker websites everywhere when he grabbed his fist WSOP-C Championship ring (his second ring overall) by taking down the $5,000 Main Event here in Rincon. That was Pilgrim's first six-figure score, and he added a third gold ring one year later in March 2010 when he won a $300 side event right here in this same building. Since bursting onto the poker scene here in 2009, Pilgrim has gone on to add another $1.5 million to his bank account -- oh, and he picked up a WPT title along the way too.
Rincon may have found its next Dwyte Pilgrim.
It's a name you're likely not familiar with, but we've become acquainted with Mstr Lynch (pronounced "Master") here at this stop. As far as we're aware, Lynch's second and third career cashes have come here in California during the last five days. And they're both rings. On Saturday, Lynch took down the $555 preliminary event for $20,897 and the jewelry, and that boosted his bankroll enough to buy into the $1,080 event a couple days later. The result from that 97-player field? Yesterday evening, Lynch notched his second tournament win and his second gold ring in four days. He's certainly becoming comfortable on this stage; Lynch's first cash was a third-place finish at the WSOP-C event at Choctaw.
Let's introduce him to you, shall we? Mstr Lynch is 22 years old, and he's originally from Dallas, Texas. He went off to school at Ole Miss for just one year, and he returned west to find a shiny new casino in nearby Durant, Oklahoma with an 18-year-old gambling limit. About an hour north of Dallas, Lynch made the trip up to Durant regularly and enjoyed good success in the small tournaments, eventually earning enough to do a little traveling and buy himself into some of these larger tournies.
That's pretty much how it all started for Lynch. Fast forward three years, and you'll find him wearing two gold rings with nearly $50,000 in his bankroll. Remember the name Mstr Lynch; you may well be hearing it again soon.
When he was interviewed following his second bracelet, Lynch talked about the near future: "I have an open mind about anything and everything right now. I am just trying to do good in poker. I want to go as far as I can, and see where I end up. That’s my plan right now. I’m going to enter tomorrow’s tournament (the Main Event) and play my best. That’s always the plan – to play my best."
Lynch's good run continues here in Rincon as he is sitting with a well-above-average stack of 45,000 or so. By virtue of his two rings, he's also leading the race for Casino Champion, a title that would earn him an entry into the million-dollar freeroll in May.
With about 7,200 chips in the middle on the board of 
, Keith Crowder checked to Justin Kruger. Kruger bet 2,900 and Crowder raised to 6,400. Kruger moved all in and that sent Crowder into the tank for quite some time. Eventually, he folded with just 8,100 behind. Kruger showed the 
and moved to 44,000 in chips.

Kristy Arnett has had one heck of a level. First, she lost a flip with two jacks and was knocked way down to 2,200. Then, she doubled a couple of times to run it back up to about 8,000. Just recently, Arnett moved all in for 9,000 or so with 
. A player called with two eights and Arnett couldn't get there. She was left with just 425 in chips.
On the next hand, Gavin Griffin raised under the gun and Arnett called all in for 375. Everyone else folded.
