Finally A Hand that's Played to the River

Level 27 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Four-handed play has been pretty passive thus far. There are some big pay jumps from fourth to first place and with stacks pretty evenly distributed players are wary of making a costly mistake. We haven't seen a hand played to the river in a while, but we just had one.

Jacob Naquin and Jerry Monroe saw a flop of {J-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}. Naquin bet 40,000, Monroe raised to 120,000 and Naquin called. The turn came {7-Hearts}, Naquin checked, Monroe bet 200,000 and Naquin called. Both players checked the {8-Diamonds} river and Monroe tabled {K-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}. Naquin mucked his cards and they moved on to the next hand.

Play Slowed

Level 27 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Play has slowed over the past few minutes, with players just exchanging blinds and antes through preflop raises.

Phillips Doubles Again

Bill Phillips raised to 70,000 from under the gun and was called by Chris Parsons from the big blind. The flop came {5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Parsons led out with a bet of 80,000. Phillips quickly tossed out a call.

The turn came {3-Diamonds} and both players checked. The river brought the {8-Diamonds} and Parsons checked once again. Phillips sat silently for a moment before announcing that he was all in for 660,000. Parsons stood up and announced a call.

Phillips tabled {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for the nut flush. Parsons held the {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} for a pair of sixes and the losing hand.

Phillips Cracks Naquin's Jacks

Jacob Naquin put out a raise from under the gun and action folded around to Bill Phillips in the big blind.

"All in," announced Phillips.

"Jeez, Bill, I've gotta call you," replied Naquin, tabling {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. He was well ahead of Phillips' {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}.

The flop came {8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Naquin was still in the lead. The turn brought the {4-Clubs}, giving Phillips a few more outs. Much to the chagrin of Naquin, the {5-Clubs} drilled the river, giving Phillips a winning straight.

Parsons Pays Off Naquin

Level 27 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Jacob Naquin opened for 75,000 on the button and Chris Parsons called from the big blind. The flop came {J-Spades} {6-Clubs} {A-Hearts} and Parsons check-called 60,000. The turn was {10-Clubs} and both players checked. The river was the {Q-Diamonds}, Parsons checked and Naquin bet 210,000.

"That's a sick bet," Parsons muttered to himself. After a few moments and some agonized facial expressions, he called.

Naquin turned over {K-Diamonds} {10-Spades} for the straight and Parsons mucked.

Parsons Takes Some From Naquin

Chris Parsons had the button and put in a raise to 66,000. Bill Phillips got out of the way in the small blind and Jacob Naquin pushed out a raise to 159,000. Parsons made the call.

The flop came {2-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Naquin continued out with a bet of 207,000. Parsons counted out his chips and called rather quickly. The turn was the {3-Diamonds} and both players checked. The river came {4-Diamonds} and they both checked once again.

Parsons tabled {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Naquin rapped the table, flinging his cards toward the muck.
