Dolan Drags One In

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

Former November Niner John Dolan hasn't had much success early on today, although when we last came across him he finally won some back. Dolan opened from UTG+1 to 700 and the player to his immediate left called. Action folded around to the big blind and he also called.

The three players took a flop of {Q-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and Dolan continued for 1,000. Just like that both of his opponents released and he took down the pot.

Lee Chips Up

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

Bernard Lee and three other players saw a flop of {4-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} in a raised pot. The first player to act checked and Lee came out swinging with 1,150. Two hands quickly hit the muck and the next player to act released as well, awarding Lee the pot. Lee flashed {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} to the table and scooped in a pot that brings him to about 15,000.

Moneymaker Grabs Last Hand Before Break

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

While other players were wrapping up for the break and making their way out of the tournament area, we came across Chris Moneymaker engaged in a heads up pot. The flop read {J-Hearts}{9-Spades}{9-Hearts} and Moneymaker checked. His opponent fired 1,350 and Moneymaker wasted little time making it 3,350 to go. His opponent thought for a bit before calling to see the turn.

Fourth street was the {5-Clubs} and the action went check-check. The board completed with the {3-Spades} and action checked around once more.

"No pair," said Moneymaker, tabling {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a flopped flush draw and ultimate ace-high.

"It's good," replied his opponent as he mucked his cards. "Nice hand."

Moneymaker is now taking roughly 33,000 into the next level.

Holley Bets Out Bazeley

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

Jacob Bazeley, John Holley, and another player all committed 1,300 before the flop to see {9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{8-Clubs} fall. Holley and the other player checked to Bazeley who fired out 2,400. Holley called and the third player folded.

Both checked the {5-Clubs} on the turn and when the {Q-Clubs} fell on the river, Holley pushed out a small bet of 1,600. Bazeley looked distraught and finally flung his cards away, awarding Holley the pot.

No Repeat Champion This Year

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

We were just informed that last year's champion of this event, Kurt Jewell, has been eliminated from play. Jewell was short-stacked early on today and shipped his last roughly 2,000 all in before the flop with {K-}{Q-}. An opponent held {A-}{K-} and Jewell was unable to improve.

Smith Flops Two Pair

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

The flop read {J-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{9-Clubs} and Mark "Pegasus" Smith and two others were looking down at it. The first player checked and Smith checked as well. The player on the button fired 700 and the first player folded. Smith cut into his stack and came out with a raise to 2,000 straight and his opponent called.

The {4-Hearts} hit the turn and Smith shot out 3,000. His opponent folded and flashed {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Smith tabled {j-Hearts}{9-Spades} for top two and took down the pot.

Lee Doesn't Get Help on River

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

We got to the table just after the preflop action but saw Bernard Lee and another player invest 1,300 each to see the flop.

The flop brought {2-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Lee checked. His opponent bet 4,000 and Lee called. The turn was the {2-Clubs} and Lee took his time before checking once again. His opponent slammed his chips in the middle and was all in for 9,600 total. Lee pondered for a bit before finally announcing a call.

Lee: {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}

Lee was behind and looking for help going to fifth street. Alas, the river brought the {7-Spades} and he was forced to watch as his opponent stacked a majority of his chips. Lee is now sporting roughly 8,000 in chips.
