Day 3 On the Horizon

Cary Marshall - Chip leader
Cary Marshall - Chip leader

The third and final day of the 2012-13 World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event here at Harvey's Lake Tahoe is set to start in 30 mintes. Cary Marshall is the overnight chip leader with 1.65 million chips, and following right behind him is Derrick Yamada, who bagged 1.585 million.

Marshall cashed in two events at the 2012 WSOP, finishing 15th in Event #43 $1,500 No Limit Hold'em ($29,505), and 13th in Event #48 $3,000 Limit Hold'em ($9,272). His cash in Event #43 is the largest of his career.

Yamada has five-career WSOP cashes, including two this year. The largest cash of his career is $16,781, which he earned for a 32nd-place finish in Event #46 this year.

Jesse Rockowitz has by far the largest previous cash at the final table - he won a massive, 3,097-player $3,000 bracelet event during the 2012 WSOP, earning $721,373 and his first and only WSOP gold bracelet. Rockowitz is third in chips, and flirted with the chip lead throughout Day 2.

The other story to follow is Clint Baskin, who bagged 286,000. Baskin won this event in 2006, when it was a $10,000 event, earning $372,240 and his one and only gold ring. If he were to win today, Baskin would become the first player to win the same circuit Main Event twice.

The cards will be in the air in 30 minutes. We hope you keep it here for all of your up-to-the-minute updates.

Two Double Ups

Ping Liu opened to 42,000 in early position, and Clint Baskin three-bet all in for 270,000 on the button. Liu called, and we were off to the races.

Liu: {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Baskin: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

The {2-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} flop was bare, and Baskin started to get up from his seat, but the {a-Spades} spiked on the turn. The river was the {3-Diamonds}, and Baskin secured the double up.

On the other table, Cary Marshall opened to 50,000 from middle position, Prabhakar Thonduru called, leaving only 100,000 behind, in the cutoff, and the rest of the players folded. The flop fell {8-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}, and Marshall led out for 60,000. Thonduru moved all in, and Marshall quickly called.

Thonduru: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Marshall: {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

Thonduru held as the turn and river came {6-Diamonds}, {5-Clubs} respectively, and doubled.

Prabhakar Thonduru Eliminated in 11th Place, ($10,660), Narunat Pansuntorn Eliminated in 10th Place ($10,660)

And just like that, we have an official final table.

Prabhakar Thonduru open-shoved his last 235,000 from under the gun, and Narunat Pansuntorn called on the button. Jesse Rockowitz iso-shoved from the big blind, having Pansuntorn well covered, and Pansuntorn called.

Thonduru: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Pansuntorn: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Rockowitz: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

The {6-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{7-Spades} flop gave Rockowitz a decisive lead, and the turn and river came {6-Diamonds}, {a-Diamonds}, eliminating both Pansuntorn and Thonduru from the tournament.

The players are now moving to the official final table. We will have full counts for you shortly.
