Affleck Loses Second Bullet

Matt Affleck participated in Day 1a of this tournament yesterday and was eliminated before play ended for the evening. It seems that Affleck has befallen the same fate today.

Affleck opened to early position with a raise to 2,000. A middle position player three-bet to 3,400 and it folded around to the big blind who moved all in for his last 26,000. Affleck called for a majority of his stack and the three-bettor folded.

Affleck: {A-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Opponent: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}

The board fell {J-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Affleck was not able to improve to beat his opponents aces.

Affleck was all in for his last 2,500 the next hand holding {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} against an opponent's {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}. Affleck did not improve and he will be forced to try his luck in Day 1c if he wishes to make Day 2 of this tournament.

Mueller Climbing

Greg Mueller opened to 1,800 from early position and his sole caller was the player on the button. The flop brought {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and Mueller fired out a continuation bet of 1,500. His opponent called and the {3-Clubs} hit fourth street. Mueller bet 3,000 but it seems the price was too high, as his opponent opted to lay down his hand, allowing Mueller to drag the pot. The two-time WSOP bracelet winner is currently sitting on roughly 70,000.

Rowsome Loses Battle of the Blinds

Adrienne Rowsome completed from the small blind after the rest of the table folded, only to have the big blind raise it to 2,300. Rowsome called and the flop brought {3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Both players tapped the table and the turn was the {7-Diamonds}.

Rowsome check-called a bet of 3,500 and the river was the {8-Diamonds}. The two players checked and Rowsome showed a {7-Spades}. Her opponent, however, tabled {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for the best seven, and Rowsome mucked her hand. She's currently sitting around 31,000.
