Le Doubles Just Before Break

Eric Varela limped in from early position, and Zhong Chen completed in the small blind. Nam Le checked his option, and the flop came down {2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. Chen led out for 25,000. Le moved all in, and as soon as Varela folded, Chen made the call.

Le: {9-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Chen: {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

It was an action packed flop, as Le's bottom two pair were ahead of the top pair of Chen. The turn brought the {4-Clubs}, and the river was the {2-Hearts}. That gave Le an unnecessary full house, and pushed him up to 310,000. Meanwhile, Chen is down to 1.15 million.

Le Loses A Big One

Zhong Chen raised in the cutoff to 35,000, and Nam Le called on the button. Eric Varela also called in the big blind, and the flop came {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. It was checked to Le, who fired out 55,000. Both players quickly called, and the turn brought the {4-Clubs}. Again it was checked to Le, and this time, he fired out 120,000. Varela was the only caller this time, and the river was the {7-Spades}.

Varela checked a third time, and Le counted out more chips. He eventually put 110,000, and Varela snap called with {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. Le said "you're good", and mucked his hand. Varela is now up to 1.35 million, while Le drops all the way down to 290,000.

"Clock!"

Joe Tehan seems a little perturbed. And it's not just because he called the clock. He looks tired, ready to go home. But it's not because he's running bad or anything, actually he's winning pots.

On a board of {2-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} David Malka had bet out 35,000, but not without a long period of thinking. Tehan made the call and it was on to the turn.

Again, Malka took his time betting 75,000 on the {4-Hearts} turn and Tehan called again.

On the {K-Spades} river, Tehan finally got fed up with Malka's thinking.

"Who's turn is it?" he asked the dealer after at least a minute. The dealer pointed to Malka and Tehan called for a clock. The floor came over and gave Malka one minute to make a decision. Finally, Malka checked, and Tehan quickly checked behind.

Tehan showed the winning {A-Spades}{9-Spades}, while Malka showed an inferior {A-}{3-}.

"Seriously, every hand doesn't need to take this long," Tehan said after the pot.

After the hand Tehan was up to 750,000 while Malka dropped to 400,000.

Bjerno Wins The Biggest Pot of the Tournament....Again

Earlier in the day, we reported that Nathan Bjerno won the biggest pot of the tournament when his flopped set of fives outlasted the nut flush draw of Suzie Zhao. Well here in Level 25, Bjerno has done it again, securing a massive double up through Huicun Qiao.

Action started with Bjerno raising to 32,000 in the cutoff. Qiao three bet on the button to 100,000, and Bjerno came along. The flop came down {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, and Bjerno check called a bet of 150,000 from Qiao. The turn brought the {9-Hearts}, and Bjerno once again checked. Qiao leaned over to look at Bjerno's stack, and after about 20 seconds of thought, he said "all in!"

It was a massive bet, as it represented the 817,000 left in Bjerno's stack. He was in the tank for about three minutes, when he hunched over in his seat, and said "I call."

Bjerno: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Qiao: {a-Diamonds}{4-Spades}

It was a great call by Bjerno, as Qiao was shoving with complete air. However, Bjerno still had to sweat an ace on the river, but that card was the {j-Hearts}. After that hand, Bjerno is now up to 2.1 million, while Qiao tumbles down to 448,000.

"Never Fold a Ten Again"

Earlier we saw Nathan Bjerno take down a big pot with a bluff, well now he's at it again. This time he bluffed the pants off Baptiste Chavaillaz.

Under the gun, Bjerno raised to 32,000 preflop. He was called by Chavaillaz on the button and Jared Ingles in the big blind. The flop came down {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Ingles checked. Bjerno decided to fire a continuation bet of 41,000. Chavaillaz wasn't having it though, he put in a reraise to 100,000.

This is where it got crazy. Bjerno put in one more bet. This time to 185,000 total. Chavaillaz took a little while, but eventually called.

On the {2-Diamonds} turn, Bjerno bet out 145,000. This put Chavaillaz into a deep thought. He counted his chips several times, and looked as if he was talking to himself. After several minutes he eventually folded showing a {10-} for top pair.

Bjerno then turned over his {A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} for no pair, and no draw.

"Never fold a ten again," Tehan said after the hand.

Jared Kawalsky Eliminated in 16th Place ($11,000)

Jared Kawalsky open shoved for his last 250,000, and action folded around to Greg Brask. He moved all in for his last 700,000, and everyone else folded their hand. "I'm dead," Kawalsky said. "Nah you're probably live," Brask responded.

Kawalsky: {a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Brask: {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

Indeed Kawalsky was live, but he would need one of the three remaining aces. The board rand down {q-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, and Brask bulked his stack up to 1.05 million.

Haiau Han Eliminated in 17th Place ($11,000)

Haiau Han-17th Place
Haiau Han-17th Place

We missed the action, but we saw that Haiau Han got the rest of his chips in preflop holding {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}. He was up against the {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, and while Lee didn't pair the flop, it was about as good as it could be, coming {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Lee called out for a ten, and sure enough, the {10-Diamonds} hit the turn, giving Lee the straight. The river brought the {3-Diamonds}, and that didn't help Han, who was sent to the payout desk.

Meanwhile, Lee is back up to 500,000 after that hand.

Ingles Takes a Big One Off Malka

Jared Ingles is starting to pick up some steam after he just took a big pot off of former chip leader David Malka.

In the hand, Ingles raised to 28,000 preflop from under the gun + 1. Malka called on the button, and Joe Tehan called from the big blind.

The flop came {Q-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Tehan checked. Ingles also checked, then Malka bet 35,000. Tehan folded, but Ingles called.

The turn was the {K-Hearts} and this prompted Ingles to bet out 46,000. After taking a good minute to think, Malka made the call.

The river fell the {5-Clubs} and this time Ingles bet out 161,000. Malka went deep into the tank on this one, but eventually called. Ingles showed {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} for a flopped set, and Malka's cards hit the muck. After that hand Ingles bounded to 1,470,000 in chips while Malka fell to 650,000.
