Maurice Hawkins tossed out 3,000 on a board of {3-Hearts}{q-Spades}{8-Spades}{k-Diamonds}, and an opponent made the call. The river was the {4-Clubs}, Hawkins fired another 6,450, and his opponent tanked for nearly two minutes before calling.

"Top two," Hawkins announced, rolling over {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}.

His opponent mucked, and Hawkins was shipped the pot.

Hui in the House

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

Phillip Hui was just spotted in the field here in New Orleans, chasing what would be his third-career gold ring. In 2010, Hui took down a side event at Lake Tahoe, earning $25,494, and this April he took down a side event at Harrah's Cherokee, banking $14,586.

The Texan has over $80,000 in career tournament earnings, and currently sits with around 14,000 in chips.

If we asked you who has played in the most consecutive World Series of Pokers, you'd probably say someone like Doyle Brunson or possibly Perry Green. Both are good guess, but both are wrong. That honor belongs to Howard “Tahoe” Andrew, from Walnut Creek, California.

He has played at least one WSOP event dating all the way back to 1973! That's 40 years, folks. Now 79 years old, Tahoe has won two bracelets both from the 1976 WSOP. His first came in Event #1 $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em for $28,000 and the other in Event #2 $2,500 Non-Pro No-Limit Hold'em for $24,000. Even if the fields were smaller back then, back-to-back titles is an impressive feat.

Tahoe is in today's field and peacefully grinding over at Table 42. In a recent hand, he and the player in Seat 5 both put in 750 preflop and saw a flop of {5-Spades}{8-Hearts}{9-Spades}. Tahoe check-called a bet of 975 before both players checked the {6-Spades} turn. When the {9-Diamonds} peeled off on the river, Tahoe bet out 1,200 and Seat 5 opted to fold.

Despite the win, Tahoe is down from the starting stack and currently sitting with 15,000.

Bryan Campanello - Showered
Bryan Campanello - Showered

Bryan Campanello has already been eliminated here on Day 1a of the World Series of Poker Circuit Event Harrah's New Orleans Main Event. Faced with a raise to three-and-a-half times the big blind, he moved all in for around 20 big blinds, only for a player to cold-call on his left and another to re-shove.

Campanello was up against an overpair, couldn't improve his hand, and was eliminated.

Sanders Coolered

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

Board: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

Michael Sanders had 7,700 in front of him, a player in middle position had a bet of more than 3,000 in front of him, and Hannah Wheaton had called the 3,000. Sanders evidently re-raised to 7,700, the player in middle position folded, and Wheaton called.

The turn was the {k-Diamonds}, all of the money went into the middle quickly, and Sanders tabled two sevens for a flopped full house. Wheaton showed {k-Clubs}{q-Spades} for a better full house however, and the {j-Diamonds} bricked off on the river.

Sanders hit the rail, while Wheaton now has around 65,000 chips.
