Ron Segni: Chip Leader

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

As we begin the last two hours of play, we see that a few stacks are starting to get close to the 100k mark. At the moment, it looks like Ron Segni is the closest. By our counts, he's sitting in 91,000, which is tops in the room.

Clinkscales Suddenly Gone

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

The last time we saw Rex Clinkscales was about 15 minutes before the last break. At that time, he was sitting with about 45,000. Well in our last walk through of the tables, we noticed that his seat had been filled by another player. We scanned the tournament area to make sure he hadn't been moved, and we weren't able to spot him, meaning that he has been eliminated from today's event.

Taylor Shoves The Turn

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Michael "Life" Taylor was as high as 34,000 earlier today, but he got knocked down to as low as 14,000 after losing a flip. However, we just caught him win a nice pot to get himself back up to 28,000.

We caught up with the action on the turn, with the board reading {5-Spades}{2-Hearts}{6-Spades}{7-Hearts}. There was about 4,500 in the middle, and Taylor fired out a bet of 2,800. His opponent announced raise, but only threw a single yellow T5,000 chip out. He then put out another T1,000 chip to make it an official raise, but Taylor was not dettered, as he moved all in for 14,500 total.

His opponent only thought for a few moments before folding, and Taylor scooped the much needed pot.

Schock Brings Down The Hammer

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Action folded around to the player on the button, who raised it to 2,300. Mitch Schock defended his big blind, and the flop came down {j-Spades}{5-Spades}{q-Diamonds}. Schock checked to his opponent, who fired out 2,300. It didn't take long for Schock to grab all of his yellow T5,000 chips, six in total, and put them in the middle, a bet of 30,000. This put his opponent to a decision for the rest of his chips, and he kicked in his hand after 15 seconds of thought.

Schock is setting himself up for a Day 2 run, as he is now sitting on 58,000.

Ross Routing the Field

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

We were making our rounds through the tables collecting chip counts when we noticed that one player had suddenly amassed a massive stack. That player is Evan Ross, who is up to 153,000 with just over one level to go. This stack puts him at second in the tournament right now, as only Ross Lecavalier bagged more from yesterday.

It has been a quick day here at the Lodge Casino. Just like that, the announcement was made that we are to deal three more hands.
