Gavin Survives

A player in early position raised and action folded around to the blinds, who both called (Gavin was in the big blind). The flop came {J-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades}, and the action went check, check, bet. Gavin called and the small blind folded.

After Gavin called, he announced, "I'm all out of purple (chips)."

The turn was the {5-Clubs}, and the action was the same -- check, bet, call. This time, Gavin said, "I'm almost out of gray (chips)."

The river was the {7-Hearts} and both players checked.

Gavin turned over the {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, for a pair of sevens, missing his flush draw. His opponent showed the {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}, also missing the flush, and Gavin chided, "Hah -- how do you like them potatoes!"

Gavin now has 7500 chips.

J.C. Tran Eliminated

Short-stacked, J.C. bet his last 1,100 before the flop in a three-way hand involving Thomas Wahlroos and an unknown player sitting on the button.

The button player bet his hand the whole way down and Wahlroos folded on the river. The button turned over {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades} and J.C. mucked his cards.

Tony G. Plays it Safe

Holding pocket kings, Tony G. and his opponent raised and reraised each other before the flop until the pot was capped. The flop brought a four and a pair of tens, and Tony checked. His opponent bet and Tony called; the action stayed the same all the way to the showdown. Check, bet, call. Check, bet, call.

The turn and river came seven, deuce, and Tony's opponent turned over pocket jacks. Tony flipped over his kings, telling his opponent, "I put you on aces." After the pot, Tony has right around 27,000 chips.

Daniel Negreanu Out

Playing his hand about as fast as he could, betting every street (even trying to pull cash out of his pocket to bet more after he was all-in), Daniel was eliminated from play when his opponent made trip fours on the river.

Unfortunately, we didn't get to see what Daniel had, as he mucked his cards without showing.

Chau Giang Eliminated by Liz Lieu

Before the flop, Chad Brown kicked it up to 1,000 and was reraised by Liz Lieu, who made it 1,500 to go. Chau Giang, who was short-stacked, made the call for the rest of his chips. Chad Brown called, creating a side pot between Brown and Lieu, going into the flop.

{A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{9-Spades} was the flop and Lieu bet out 500. Brown made the call and the turn brought the {2-Diamonds}. Both players checked and the river came {7-Clubs}. Lieu bet 1,000 and Brown mucked his cards.

Lieu showed {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}, for a set of queens, eliminating Giang from the tournament and running her own stack up to 30,000.

15-Minute Break

Players are now on a 15-minute break.

Just before they were dismissed, Erick Lindgren lost the rest of his chips moving all-in before the flop for 600 chips with {A-Spades}{9-Clubs}. He was called by two players, one holding the {A-Clubs}{J-Spades} and the other, {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}. Erick failed to catch the nine he needed to stay alive and busted out just before the break.
