Sabyl Cohen Eliminated

Sabyl Cohen was sent home early via back-to-back second-best hands.

The hand that took most of her chips came in a classic match-up of A-K vs pocket deuces. Sabyl hit a king on the flop, but her opponent spiked a third deuce on the river.

She moved all-in on the next hand with 9-10 and was called by A-10 and sent to the rail.

Gavin Smith Always Animated

Raising from early position, Gavin Smith was called by the big blind and a player in late position going into the flop, which came {6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}.

The big blind checked and Gavin led out. While the late-position player considered his decision, Gavin heckled him, saying "Throw it away, bro -- don't be a calling station." Not intimidated, his opponent called anyway, as did the small blind.

The turn was the {J-Hearts}. The big blind checked again, Gavin bet, the late-position player folded and Gavin remarked, "Well played." The big blind called.

The {J-Clubs} came on the river and the big blind checked once again. Gavin fired a third bullet and his opponent made the call. Gavin showed {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} and his opponent mucked, bringing Gavin's chip count up to 8,500.

Tony G. Fools His Friends

Sitting on the big blind, Tony G. tapped the table, saying "Friends!" Five players saw the flop, which came {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. The first four checked, and the last player to act bet 300; Tony was the lone caller, saying, "We're all friends here!"

The {A-Spades} fell on the turn and Tony bet out, saying to his opponent, "I know you have clubs."

His bet was called, and the river came the {3-Spades}. Tony checked, his opponent bet, and Tony check-raised and was called.

Tony turned over the {A-Clubs} {9-Clubs}; he had flopped the nuts, and is now sitting at 14,100 chips.

Daniel Negreanu Unhappy at Break

When Daniel Negreanu, member of the Players Advisory Council, advised Darrell Dicken and David Chiu that they'd be able to manage playing both the $2,500 H.O.R.S.E. event and the $5,000 Limit Hold'em World Championship in the same day, he was giving his honest opinion.

When the events were originally scheduled, the dinner breaks for each were supposed to be at different times; unfortunately for Daniel, that's not how things worked out.

Assuming he would be able to play a solid hour at 300-600 in the $5,000 limit event while the H.O.R.S.E. tournament was on dinner break, he went ahead and registered. Much to his displeasure, the tournament staff made an announcement yesterday that the dinner breaks would overlap, effectively eliminating any chance for Daniel to get in a full hour at 300-600.

He seemed most perturbed by the fact that he put his own neck on the line, explaining to both Darrell Dicken and David Chiu how they could fit both events into their schedules, based on the dinner breaks. He said he feels responsible for their $5,000 buy-ins, now that the tournament staff has deviated from the original schedule.

We'll let you know how all three players manage; Negreanu currently has 6600 left in the limit event, but he said his focus for the time being is the H.O.R.S.E. event.
