Event 18 - $5,000 Limit Holdem

Day 1 Completed

Day 1 is Over

Players are bagging up their chips; we're done for the evening. The tournament staff has informed us that play will recommence at 3:00 p.m. PDT tomorrow afternoon.

For exact Day 2 chip counts, check back tomorrow morning.

Good night!

Eerie Calm

The room seems to have quieted down a bit in the past hour or so; probably due to the fact that the women's event has paused for the night.

The ladies raised quite a stir once they found out they'd all reached the money, understandably so. The sound of shuffling chips is dominating the Amazon Room.

Benyamine Takes a Hit

On a board reading {5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{9-Spades}, David Benyamine and an unknown player exchanged bets until the action was capped.

The river brought the {7-Clubs}. Benyamine's opponent checked, David bet, and was called.

At the showdown, David said, "Three fours," but his opponent picked up a third nine on the turn, leaving David with 21,000 chips.

After the hand, his opponent commented, "Hey, at least we're not playing no-limit."

122 Players Remaining

There are currently 13 tables left in the tournament area, and we're two eliminations away from losing one more. There are 20 minutes remaining in the current level, after which play will stop and recommence tomorrow afternoon.

Online Pro Battling Three of the Game's Giants

Dustin Sitar, who has been a consistent winner in some of the biggest games on the net, has found himself on table 31, sitting with the likes of Howard Lederer, Clonie Gowen, and Richard Brodie.

When asked what he thinks about playing with Howard, Clonie, and Richard, Dustin said: "They're all very attractive people."

Dustin's playing some solid poker and will likely be returning for Day 2.
