Freddy Deeb Takes the Chip Lead

With a little help from the cards this time. In the big blind Deeb called a raise from the cutoff and they saw a flop of {6-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}. Deeb check-raised to 3000 and the other player moved all-in. Deeb showed {K-Diamonds} {10-Spades} for top pair, but his opponent had the overpair in pocket Jacks. The {5-Diamonds} on the turn opened up a flush draw for Freddy, and that backdoor draw hit in the cruelest possible way when the {J-Diamonds} gave Freddy the flush and his opponent a meaningless set. Deeb now has 53,000 chips.

Our New Chip Leader

Is Mike Spegal, who has a 50,000 stack in front of him. A recent hand that helped him amass all those chips came when he flopped a set of Jacks and ended up all-in against a player with A-J.

When You're Hot, You're Hot

And right now Marco Traniello is running hot--or lucky, at least for one hand. Having built his stack up to 22K, Traniello ended up all-in holding pocket Kings...only to find he was up against pocket Aces. No matter--a King popped on the flop and Traniello now stands as our chip leader with 32,000.
