John Juanda Takes a Hit

John Juanda
John Juanda
From early position John Juanda raised to 1,700 and the player in the small blind reraised to 5,700. Juanda potted it, leaving the small blind virtually all in, and once the small blind tossed in the last of his chips he showed pocket queens to Juanda's pocket tens. The {A-Hearts}{2-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{K-Clubs} board didn't alter the status quo and Juanda's stack was reduced to 16,100.

Sexton Busts Another

An early position player called and Mike Sexton raised to 2,300. The button called and the big blind also called. When the action got back to the first limper, he reraised to 11,500. Sexton then reraised to 30,000. Both players that had previously called from the button and big blind folded before the early position player called all in for a total of 22,000.

Sexton: {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Opponent: {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}

The dealer ran the board out, 6-T-Q-7-2 with four clubs. The clubs did not matter, as Sexton held the {K-Clubs} and won the pot. Sexton busted another player. He's now up to 84,000 and looking strong.

Laak's Revenge

Earlier in the day Lee Watkinson doubled up through Phil Laak when he spiked a jack on the river. The jacks weren't kind to Watkinson on this hand as the two players got all the chips in with the board reading {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. Watkinson held {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}, while Laak had {K-Hearts}{J-Spades} for trips. The river was a brick and that sent Watkinson to the rail. With that win Laak now has 42,000.

Doyle Brunson Eliminated

Brunson=Busto
Brunson=Busto
On a flop of {J-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, Lyle Berman bet 15,000, Doyle Brunson moved all in for 28,000 and Berman called.

Brunson {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}

Berman {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

The turn was the {8-Hearts}, the river was the {6-Spades} and Texas Dolly headed to the rail, eliminated by his good friend and occasional visitor to the "Big Game," Lyle Berman. After the hand, Berman was up to 103,100.

Sometimes Aces Actually Win

Following a flop of {A-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} a player in early position bet 1,800 and Joe Sebok raised to 5,300. The other player moved all in for 15,800, which turned out to be a bad idea as Sebok held pocket aces. His opponent's queens were pretty well crushed, and with that hand Sebok is now up to 74,000.

Chen Puts his Bullets to Good Use

Bill Chen
Bill Chen
Bill Chen opened the action from the cutoff with a raise to 1,800. Mats Rahmn called from the button and then the small blind reraised to 6,600. Chen then moved all in to 19,100.

Rahmn folded on the button, but Chen was called by the small blind, who showed {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}. Chen turned over {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} and had a commanding lead going to the flop.

Flop: {J-Spades}{2-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Turn: {8-Diamonds}
River: {6-Hearts}

Chen doubled up--and then some--to just over 46,000.

Mueller Fights Back

After having his stack dwindled down to just 3,000 chips, Greg "FBT" Mueller bet his remaining chips on a board of {6-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Both Beth Shak and Patrik Antonius called the bet. The river fell the {5-Clubs} and increased the chances that Mueller's opponents held full houses.

When the cards were turned over, Mueller's {4-Clubs}{3-Spades} was the winning hand with a seven-high straight. Mueller has fought back and brought himself back to 17,000 chips.
