What's the Distraction?

While looking around the Amazon room, we have noticed that entire tables will all of a sudden look up and start watching something very intently. The same thing can be seen from the floor personnel, dealers, and even the cleaning staff. What's the distraction? The Milwaukee's Best girls are out in full force today patrolling the room.

Lisandro Does Work

The first two players came into the pot limping, and the small blind made the call. Jeff Lisandro was in the big blind, and he put in a raise to 650. One of the original limpers made the call, and the two saw a heads-up flop of {10-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

Without much delay, Lisandro moved all in for 1,500, and his opponent made the call. Lisandro showed {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}, and his opponent had {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}. The board ran out {3-Spades}, {4-Clubs} and Lisandro's hand held up to double him back to around 3,200.

Alex Jacob Takes a Hit

Alex Jacob raised to 250 from early position. Action folded around to a short-stacked player, who moved all in for 925. When it got back around to Jacob, he made a quick call. The players showed:

Jacob: 5-5
Opponent: K-K

The flop hit Alex squarely, coming 9-5-3. When the turn came the {10-Hearts}, Jacob was in excellent position to pick up some chips and send a player home in the process. The river dropped the {K-Clubs} and just like that Jacob's set was second best. His opponent doubled through him and left him with a mere 1,300.

Hello, 'Dolly'!

Players from time to time bring interesting card protectors to the table. While checking out different card protectors, I spotted "Dolly," which is the famous card protector that Doyle Brunson calls "Casper". "Dolly" is a domino-shaped, black card protector that has the old Ghostbusters emblem on the front. Apparently, Pamela Brunson had slipped in sometime in the past round and has possession of the famed card protector. She is currently sitting at around 2,750 in chips.

Ivey's Psychic Abilities

After Phil Ivey made it 400 to go preflop from middle position, the player immediately to his left called and the button attempted to move all-in, but the way he moved his chips was deemed as only a call by the dealer. The big blind called as well, which sent four players to the flop.

Flop: {3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}

All players checked to the button, who moved all in for his remaining 2,000. Ivey was the only one who called, and although his opponent held a monster {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}, Ivey appeared to be all-knowing and showed {4-Spades}{5-Spades} for the nut straight. After the hand, Ivey is up to 14,750.

Terrence Chan Eliminates a Player

Terrence Chan raised from middle position to 250 and a player on the button pushed all in for 1,300. Chan made the call showed {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}. His opponent was in bad shape holding {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}. The board hit neither player and Chan's opponent hit the rail. After the hand Chan now sits at 11,500 in chips.

Chan Survives to the Break

With the players filing out of the room for break, Johnny Chan remained firmly planted in his seat, involved in a hand for his tournament life.

From the button, Chan limps along with five other players, and half the table gets to play on a flop of {6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{10-Spades}. The action is checked around to Chan, who bets 500. The player under the gun decides to get a little frisky, and check-raises the legend up to 1,300. The remaining players duck out, and when the decision comes back to Chan, he pushes all in for 2,000. His opponent makes the call, and the hands are turned up -- Johnny with {K-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, trying to dodge the open-end straight draw of his opponent holding {5-Clubs}{3-Spades}.

The last two cards to peel off the deck are {9-Spades}{J-Clubs}, and Johnny Chan doubles up to around 6,000 total chips.

Shane Schleger Doubles Up

We caught up to this hand on the flop. With the board reading {J-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs}, Shane Schleger had all his chips in the center, holding {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} against the {10-Spades}{9-Spades} of his opponent. The turn was perfect for "Shaniac," coming the {5-Diamonds}. The {9-Hearts} on the river missed his opponent's open-ended straight-flush draw and Schleger doubled up to 8,600 chips.
