Frantic Pace

This tournament is going at lightning speed -- after just three levels, our field has been around halved. At this rate we might make final table before our ten levels are up.

Top Pair Takes It

Sorel 'Imper1um' Mizzi
Sorel 'Imper1um' Mizzi
Sorel Mizzi has recently joined nearby waters. He was last spotted folding to a 1,200 bet on a {2-Spades}{7-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} board. Two other players called, one of whom was Maz Nawab (now on 7,200). Whilst Nawab mucked, the two callers showed {K-Spades}{10-Spades} and {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}, the former taking it down with top pair.

Mizzi currently 4,275.

Poker Brat's Stack Dissected In Half

Phil Hellmuth's stack has been chopped in two.

The hand in question was a simple affair, Hellmuth raising it up to 1,000 from the button, the small blind pushing all in for 1,475 more and Hellmuth making the call. A-3 versus A-J, a three on the turn of no use on an A-K-K-3-4 board.

Hellmuth is now down to 4,350 in chips and has his head slumped in his arms on the table before me.

Perry Knocks Out Opponent

Robert Perry has knocked out an opponent. He raised preflop, and then called his opponent's all in. Coinflipping with pocket jacks against the opponent's A-K, the jacks held up on a raggy board. As the river came down, Perry banged the table repeatedly with some force, and was muttering something along the lines of, "You wanna coinflip? I'll coinflip with you..." as his young opponent stood up in a daze and headed for the door.
