Musical Chairs

A couple of our tables have broken already.

Scotty Nguyen just arrived, taking a seat between Men Nguyen and Mickey Appleman. Eric Froehlich and Josh Arieh are also at that table.

Alex Kravchenko has just been moved to an empty seat at that fearsome Table No. 15. Quite a crowd of players from other events, a dealer or two, and photographers forming around that one.

Dario Alioto Gets the Better of Ross Boatman

On a flop of {7-Spades} {6-Spades} {2-Clubs} , an unknown player bet 3,000, but was raised all in by Ross Boatman. Dario Alioto made the all-in call, and the unknown player folded his hand.

Boatman and Alioto showed:

Boatman: {Q-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} for top set,
Alioto: {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {5-Spades} {4-Spades} for the open-ended straight flush draw.

The {J-Clubs} turn kept Boatman in the lead.

The {8-Diamonds} river did not, and Dario Alioto won the hand with a straight.

Vahedi Vacates

On a board of {4-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{Q-Spades}{7-Clubs}, Amir Vahedi bet pot with almost the last of his chips, Jeff Williams raised, and Vahedi called.

Vahedi showed {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for top two and an inside straight draw. Williams showed {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{9-Spades} for a flush draw and set, which became a boat when the river brought the {4-Clubs}.

Opting not to rebuy, Vahedi soon left.

Negreanu Rebuys

Robert Williamson III got Daniel Negreanu all in on a flop of {4-Spades}{J-Hearts}{2-Spades}. Williamson showed {3-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{5-Spades}{8-Hearts}, and the {6-Clubs} on the turn gave him the straight and the pot.

Negreanu rebought. Jamshidi rebought as well after that previous hand with Hellmuth. Meanwhile, Hellmuth is very happy with his big stack, as he has told the table he only intended to use one bullet today.

Phil Hellmuth Building His Stack

Phil is in a good mood
Phil is in a good mood
Oh a board of {10-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} , Robert Williamson moved all in and was called quickly by both Phil Hellmuth and Sirous Jamshidi.

They showed:

Williamson: {8-?} {5-?} {5-?} {4-?} for bottom set,
Hellmuth: {A-?} {K-?} {Q-?} {J-?} for the big straight draw,
Jamshidi: {A-?} {A-?} {9-?} {3-?} for the overpair of aces.

The {6-Diamonds} turn kept Williamson in the lead.

However, the {K-Spades} river gave Phil Hellmuth the nuts.

Hellmuth now sits with a healthy stack of 52,500.

Let It Ride

Over at John Juanda's table, a player raised pot preflop, and Juanda and one other player called the raise. All three checked all of the way to the river, and all three ended up showing "A-Q-x-x" to chop the pot.

"Whoa, you guys play bad," joked Juanda.

"We should leave those chips in for the next hand," cracked J.C. Tran.

Yukon Out

It was a quick tournament for Brad "Yukon" Booth.

After losing his first all-in confrontation, he opted not to rebuy and appears to have called it a day.

Hellmuth Wins Early Pot

Sirous Jamshidi just lost a large pot when his king-high flush was bested by Phil Hellmuth's ace-high flush.

Looks like Jamshidi is going to play the short stack for a few hands before rebuying (if necessary).

What a Table!

Phil Hellmuth just arrived, sitting at Table #15, joining Robert Williamson III, Erick Lindgren, Erik Seidel, Sirous Jamshidi, Daniel Negreanu, and Daniel Alaei.
