Late Registrations

Registrations are still being taken for today's event with several late tables being opened. One new table features Sirous Jamshidi, Steve Zolotow, Billy "The Croc" Argyros and Andy Bloch.

Schneider Scoops

David Chiu raised preflop and Tom Schneider made the call from the big blind.

The flop came {9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} and Scheider check-called the bet from Chiu.

The turn was the {4-Diamonds} and again Schneider checked, Chiu bet and Schneider called.

The river landed the {3-Hearts} and this time Schneider led out with a bet which Chiu called.

Schneider tabled {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for top set and nice low to collect an early scooped pot.

Matusow Talks the Talk and Walks the Walk

Before the following hand, Mike Matusow said the following:

"I'm here to entertain you people. I'm about to make this table laugh and cry in a minute, just wait."

Three players including Mike Matusow limped in and saw a flop of {4-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {5-Clubs}. The betting was checked to Matusow. Matusow bet and both his opponents called. On the turn of the {2-Diamonds} , the betting was again checked to Matusow. Matusow again bet and both players called.

Just before the river was dealt, Tim Phan called out, "Three!" The river fell the {3-Spades}. All players checked and Matusow showed {A-Hearts} {2-Spades} {9-Spades} {K-Hearts} for the wheel. Both opponents mucked.

After the hand, Matusow saw Gus Hansen walking around and asked, "Gus, you out yet?"

Negreanu Debates with Greenstein

Daniel Negreanu and Barry Greenstein are seated on different tables but only a few feet from each other, and in-between hands Negreanu has been walking over to Greenstein to chat. Negreanu is swinging his practice golf club while debating with Greenstein about WSOP tournament structures.

We overheard them chat about pot-limit Omaha tournaments and what would be the better format when play was down to the final ten players. Do you play two five-handed tables or one ten-handed table? Greenstein was of the opinion that two tables would create more hands and more action, while Negreanu likes one table as that would allow more time for them to play.

The debate continues...
