Big Stacks Battle It Out

No-Limit Hold'em:

Action folded around to the small blind, Nick Binger, who raised to 7,000. Klein Bach called from the big blind. Both these players had very deep stacks of over 150,000 each.

The flop came {9-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {3-Hearts} and Binger led out for 13,500. Bach called. The turn was the {5-Diamonds} and Binger checked. Bach bet a tall stack of orange chips totaling 20,000. Binger matched it.

The river was the {8-Hearts} and Binger led out for 22,000. Bach tanked for a few minutes before folding and sending the massive pot Binger's way.

Binger is now up to 334,000 and a big chip leader in the tournament with just 20 players left. Bach is down to 110,000.

Ricky Sanders Eliminated in 21st Place ($5,688)

Ricky Sanders - 21st Place
Ricky Sanders - 21st Place
No-Limit Hold'em:

Though the specific details of the betting are unclear, we do know that Ricky Sanders picked a bad time to get his money in. He held {K-?} {K-?}, and he and Mats Gavatin went at it, getting all their money in. Sanders held the second best hand, but Gavatin could do better than that. He tabled {A-?} {A-?}, and was in control of Sanders' fate.

The board provided no help for Ricky Sanders, and he is knocked out after finding himself in a very unlucky spot.

Peter Rho Eliminated in 22nd Place ($5,688)

No-Limit Hold'em:

In middle position, big stack Nick Binger comes in raising to 5,500. Action passes to the button where Peter Rho shoves all in for about 20,000. Binger makes the call. His {J-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} is live against Rho's {K-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds}.

Live cards are always nice when they hit the board. The dealer deals out {2-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {A-Spades}. Binger's pair of eights does the job, taking down the pot and sending Peter Rho to the cashier.

Frank Gary All In

No-Limit Hold'em:

Opening from the button, Frank Gary puts in a raise to 8,000. Nick Binger is in the small blind, and he reraises to 25,000. Gary shoves for a total of 31,000 and Binger quickly calls. The hands are turned over:

Gary: {A-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}
Binger: {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades}

The board runs out {2-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {6-Clubs}. The runner-runner clubs on fourth and fifth streets make Gary the winning ace-high flush, and provide him with the stay of execution he needs. He survives his all in and is up to the somewhat-healthy range with 64,000 chips.

Jason Ruffinelli Eliminated in 24th Place ($5,688)

Jason Ruffinelli - 24th Place
Limit Hold'em:

For the first time in a while, we had some real action over at Table 16. Quyen Nguyen opened the can of worms with a raise from middle position. Michael Rosenthal raises from late position, and Sam Hiatt three bets from the cutoff. Jason Ruffinelli is in the small blind, and he caps the betting with the fourth raise. All three opponents call, and it's four-handed to the flop.

The dealer spreads out the first three cards: {4-Clubs} {K-Clubs} {10-Clubs}. Ruffinelli bets, Nguyen folds, Rosenthal calls, and Hiatt raises. Ruffinelli is all in, and Rosenthal calls the second bet.

The turn and river come {A-Spades} and {3-Hearts} in that order, with Rosenthal check-calling a bet both times. At showdown, Hiatt tables {A-Hearts} {K-Spades}, which is enough to best Rosenthal. Next is Ruffinelli, who needs to beat that hand to stay alive. He turns over {A-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds}, and is outkicked and kicked out by Sam Hiatt.

Michael Guzzardi Eliminated in 25th Place ($5,688)

Limit Hold'em:

From under the gun, Ricky Sanders raised, and sitting next to him, Michael Guzzardi raised it up. Sanders called.

The flop came down {5-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {J-Spades}. Sanders check-called a bet from Guzzardi. On the turn, the {7-Clubs} peeled off. Sanders checked, Guzzardi bet, and Sanders raised back, enough to put his opponent all in. Guzzardi called.

Sanders showed {J-Hearts} {10-Hearts}, and was in trouble versus the {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} of Guzzardi. Salvation came on the river though, drowning Guzzardi. The {10-Spades} hit the board, making trip jacks for Sanders. Guzzardi gets outdrawn on the last card, and he headed to the rail disappointed.
