Who Else Is Here?

Liz Lieu, Justin Bonomo, Daniel Alaei, David Chicotsky, Scott Seiver, Matt Graham, Jerrod Ankenman, Larry Flynt, William Rockwell, Evelyn Ng, Sorel Mizzi, Chris Grigorian, Alan Sass, Jesper Hoog, Jordan Rich, Terrence Chan and Matt Parvis are all playing today.

Premature Climax

After months and months of anticipation, there are always some who come to the Main Event who just can't wait to push their chips in the middle.

A player with an eight-high flush draw got it all in versus a flopped set of fives. His draw didn't come, and we have another early elimination.

Some Needles In The Haystack

Today's field seems to be amateur-heavy, and we've already heard the cry of "All In, Call!" However, we spotted a few noteworthy names in the blue section, including Archie "The Greek" Karas, Gabe Costner, Rhett Butler, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Francois Safieddine, Steve Paul-Ambrose, Amnon Filippi, Steve Wong, and Tony G.

Huck Seed Eliminated

Board: {3-Spades} {7-Spades} {7-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}

Chris Miranda bet out for 6,000 on the turn and Huck Seed moved all in for an additional 16,000. Chris went into the tank before eventually making the call. Seed turned over {7-Hearts} {9-Hearts} while Chris showed {7-Diamonds} {A-Diamonds}. The {2-Hearts} on the river was of no help to Seed, who was eliminated from today's field.

"Always No-Limit"

Joe Awada enters the pot with a raise to 350 from late position and finds a caller in the big blind before the flop comes {3-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {2-Clubs}.

The big blind leads out for 1,000 and Awada calls so we see the turn of {J-Hearts}. The big blind leads once more for 2,050 and once again Awada calls.

The river brings the {3-Clubs}, prompting the big blind player to check to Awada, who bets 3,000. The big blind player calls showing {Q-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} for rivered trips.

Awada folds his {8-Clubs} {8-Spades} adding "Always no-limit hold'em." He's down to 13,600 already.

The Calm Before the Storm

Not unlike on days 1a and 1b, it is eerily quiet here in the Amazon Room today. These players, most of whom are likely playing in their first Main Event, are all very focused on the task at hand.

There is very little chit-chat. The only sound that can be heard is that of 1,000-plus players nervously shuffling chips.
