Boyd Bounces To Break

Just before the break Dutch Boyd collected a nice Stud-8 pot against Eric Buchman.

Boyd fired on the river showing {Q-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Buchman made the call with {A-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{J-Spades} on board. However Boyd rolled over ({K-Spades}{2-Spades}{10-Clubs}) for a full house to scoop the pot as Buchman mucked.

Boyd heads to the break with 450,000 chips.

Blair Rodman Eliminated in 11th Place ($13,274)

Blair Rodman - 11th Place
Blair Rodman was unable to make it bracelet number two today after he was recently eliminated from the tournament.

In a hand of Stud-8, Rodman's last chips were all in by sixth street against Carlos Mortensen with the following boards:

Rodman: ({K-Spades}{7-Spades}) {Q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} ({A-Diamonds})
Mortensen: ({3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}) {3-Hearts}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} ({6-Diamonds})

Mortensen's monster, rolled up threes turned full house, takes down the pot to leave Rodman headed to the cashier in 11th place.

Meanwhile Mortensen now sits with 640,000 chips!

Ivey Train Back On Track

Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey
Just when you thought it was all heading south for Phil Ivey, he's back once again, and not with a double up, but a triple up!

In Omaha-8, Ivey raised the button after Steve Wong had limped in. Frank Debus called in the big blind as did Wong.

The flop was {A-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Debus led out with a bet which both opponents called. The turn brought the {8-Diamonds} and Debus checked to Wong who this time led the betting, however again both opponents called.

The river was the {2-Spades} and action checked to Ivey who took his turn to be the aggressor by moving his last 9,000 into the middle. Debus folded to leave himself just 40,000 behind as Wong made the call.

Wong: {A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}
Ivey: {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

A wheel for Ivey, good for the high and the low, to scoop the pot and jump back into contention with 204,000 chips.

Ivey Bleeding

The action folded to Phil Ivey in the small blind who raised with Dutch Boyd making the call in the big blind.

The flop was {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}{J-Hearts} and Ivey led out with a bet, Boyd raised and Ivey called.

The turn brought the {9-Diamonds} and Ivey checked to Boyd who fired again. Ivey rolled his eyes and mucked to leave himself with just 68,000 chips. Boyd is up to 400,000.

Buchman Goes Motown on Ivey

Phil Ivey completed and led fourth street, before calling all the way in a Stud-8 pot against Eric Buchman.

Buchman: ({J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}) {5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}
Ivey: (X-X-X) {5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Ivey mucked once he saw Buchman was going high with his jacks and fives, leaving Ivey on just 118,000 chips. Buchman was short a few minutes ago but is now up to 220,000.

Mark Scott Eliminated in 13th Place ($10,481)

Mark Scott - 13th Place
As we tried to corner the TD to get some more details about the Dutch Boyd penalty, the short-stacked Mark Scott was eliminated on the other table. He'll depart in 13th place for $10,481 in prize money.

We can confirm that Dutch Boyd was penalized for calling with the nuts. He's now returned to the table after serving his penalty and some normality has been restored.
