Matusow Steams but Scotty Keeps it Friendly

Hold'em

With the board reading {7-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{J-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}, Scotty Nguyen and Mike Matusow were tangling in an entertaining hand.

Nguyen fired a bet from the small blind and snarled, "Give it up, baby!"

"King-Queen?" quizzed Matusow.

Nguyen broke out in hysterical laughter as Matusow threw his cards into the muck in disgust. Nguyen brought a smile back to Matusow when he flashed him {K-?}{J-?} for top two pair.

Matusow is struggling with 111,000 while the defending champion is moving well with 195,000 chips.

Elezra Stays Alive

Razz

Eli Elezra has doubled up just before the break in a hand of Razz. He was all in by fifth street against Freddy Deeb with the board running out as follows.

Elezra: ({A-?}{7-?}) {2-?}{2-?}{4-?}{J-Clubs} ({J-?})
Deeb: ({3-?}{7-Clubs}) ({A-?}{9-?}{Q-?}{Q-?} ({K-?})

Elezra could only muster up a jack-low but it was good enough to take the pot as he doubles up to 31,000 to stay alive!

Stud

Greg Raymer has been sent to the rail after getting his last chips into the middle during a hand of Stud against Michael Saltzburg.

Saltzburg flipped ({8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{10-Clubs}) {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for a flush and Raymer couldn't overcome it with his ({7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}-X) {3-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}.

Saltzburg took it down and the 2004 World Champion is eliminated.

Stud-8

Bach: (X-X) {A-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{3-Clubs} (X)
Lunkin: (X-X) {2-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{Q-Spades} (X)

We picked up the action on fourth street, with David Bach leading the betting against Vitaly Lunkin. Bach fired on fourth and fifth, before Lunkin put in the raise. Bach called, but then bet again on sixth before the river was checked down.

Bach: {A-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{3-Clubs} ({6-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{10-Spades})
Lunkin: {2-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{Q-Spades} ({7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{8-Diamonds})

Bach showed aces with a seven-low, which was good to collect both halves of the pot. Bach is now our chip leader with 420,000 as Lunkin slips to 108,000.
