Chen on the Short Stack

Omaha-8

Gus Hansen opened for a raise from middle position, Erik Seidel called on the button, John Kabbaj called from the small blind and Bill Chen called from the big blind.

The flop came down {9-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {5-Clubs}. The action was checked to Hansen, who bet. Seidel folded, Kabbaj folded, Chen raised and Hansen called. Both players checked the {2-Diamonds} on the turn. The river was the {2-Spades} and Chen check-called a bet from Hansen.

Hansen turned over {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}, his pair of kings good enough to take the pot. He's up to 800,000 while Chen is all the way down to 130,000.

Wahlbeck tabled ({A-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Spades}) for the nut flush and best low to scoop the pot and leave Nguyen on the short stack with 167,000. Wahlbeck is up to a healthy 955,000.

Razz

Antonius was crippled on a hand vs. Chau Giang, where Giang made a 6-5-4-3-A low to leave Antonius on only 36,000 in chips.

Patrik Antonius (X)(X) {5-?} {4-?} {Q-?} {K-?} (X)
Gus Hansen (X)(X) {6-?} {2-?} {4-?} {6-?} (X)
Erik Seidel (X)(X) {5-?} {A-?} {10-?} {4-?} (X)

A few hands later, Erik Seidel brought it in, Gus Hansen completed, Antonius bet his last 24,000, Seidel called and Hansen called. Seidel led out on fourth street and Hansen called. The lead switched to the Great Dane on fifth street and he bet out, Seidel making the call. Hansen hit a pair of sixes on sixth street and called Seidel's bet. Seidel then bet the river and Hansen gave up his hand.

Seidel showed {2-?} {3-?} {7-?} for a wheel. Antonius mucked and headed for the rail... but not before being stopped by some autograph hounds.

Hansen = 840,000
Seidel = 260,000
