Carli and Filetoth Out

Laszlo Filetoth opened to 5,600 from under the gun and the action folded to Doug Carli who called in the hijack seat. Peter Costa three-bet to 20,600 on the button, the blinds released and Filetoth moved all in for 28,500 total. Carli was very confused, but after a moment for clarification he called and so too did Costa.

The flop fell {2-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Carli moved all in for 42,000. Costa snap-crackle-pop called and all three hands were opened:

Showdown
Filetoth: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Carli: {Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
Costa: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

The turn and river both brought sixes and Costa's aces held. Both Filetoth and Carli hit the rail while Costa stacked his newfound chips and he now sits with 160,000 of them.

A Phan of Aces

At our action-packed feature table, Young Phan had Angus Lynn all in preflop and the hands were opened:

Showdown
Phan: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}
Lynn: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs}

The board ran {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Phan's aces held sending Lynn to the cage to collect his earnings.

"I folded kings," someone at the table said.

"Yeah? I folded jacks," Jonathan Littled added.

Phan was all smiles knowing he dodged two sets and now has 75,000 chips to his name.

Jason Shown No Mercier

Jason Mercier
Jason Mercier

With Jason Mercier limping on the button, Matt Zoorob decided to raise it up, only for the big blind (who appears to have eaten his player card) to call, and Mercier to move all in for 13,900. Both players called.

The dealer rolled out the first three cards: {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}. "Pot," announced Zoorob confidently. "All-in," countered the big blind. "Call," came the reply.

Zoorob: {10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
BB: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Mercier :{5-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-}{7-Diamonds}

With just one pair, Mercier was in piping hot water, and it got even hotter as the turn and river came {6-Clubs} and {2-Hearts} respectively to send him to the rail. Zoorob, meanwhile, scooped up the pot with a set of tens and now has 165,000 as a result.

Not So Little

Jonathan "not so" Little
Jonathan "not so" Little

Dan "djk123" Kelly was all in against Jonathan Little after a series of preflop raises here at the feature table.

Kelly didn't misclick this time, he had a very strong hand with {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{K-Spades}{Q-Spades}. Little had aces as well; {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

The flop brought {8-}{9-}{2-} with two diamonds and after another {8-} turned, Little was freeroling for a monster pot. The river brought a diamond, the {j-Diamonds}, and Kelly's stack was moved one seat over as he hit the rail.

"When I saw the {8-Diamonds} in the window I knew it was trouble!" Young Phan exclaimed.

Little is still our chip leader, but now he's got a massive lead with 215,000 chips.

Clean Sheet

"DJ misclicked," groaned Eric 'Sheets' Haber to Matt Stout upon his exit.

Movement on the feature table lured me over, but although I rocketed over there like a jet-propelled whippet, we were already amid the aftermath. "I didn't meant to call preflop," confessed Dan "djk123" Kelly apologetically as the chips sailed across the felt.

As they shook hands, I scribbled the board and hole cards frantically onto my notepad:

Haber: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{A-Clubs}
Kelly: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}
Board: {9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{7-Hearts}

The bottom line is that Kelly hit his set of nines, and Haber his the deck.

Byrne to a Crisp

Fireworks on the turn of a {2-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-Hearts} board as Ryan Byrne open shoved with {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. With little hesitation, Peter Costsa made the call with {4-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for the bigger straight, and after an uneventful {Q-Hearts} on the river, picked up both the pot and the scalp. The "Silver Fox" now has 77,000.

Thibaut's What I'm Talking About

Klinghammer Thibaut was all in against Khalil Abujawdeh in a battle for the longest name ever.

Not really, they were actually all in for a 63,000-chip pot with the board reading {3-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Spades}{J-Clubs}.

After the turn Abujawdeh bet 8,000 and Thibaut moved all in for 27,000 more. Abujawdeh called:

Showdown
Thibaut: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
Abujawdeh: {8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}

The river was the {4-Clubs} giving Thibaut a winning flush and doubling him to 63,000 chips. Abujawdeh now sits with 73,000 chips.

First Blood

Despite nurturing a short stack like a newborn baby, Mike Puskarich has finally bit the dust on the very first hand back after the break. He achieved his primary objective, however, and goes home with $3,357, which, considering he had just 2,000 at the bubble, isn't a bad day's work.
