Somebody Call a Medic

Nenad Medic and Peter Costa were two of four players to see an {A-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop with the latter seated in the big blind. With both blinds checking, Medic led for 25,000; Just Costa made the call.

The {7-Diamonds} turn triggered another bet from Medic, this time to the tune of 40,000, and, again, Costa made the call.

On the {9-Diamonds} river, Costa check-called a third bet of 75,000, albeit after tanking, but mucked upon being shown {10-Spades}{J-Spades}{7-Clubs}{9-Spades}.

Costa now struggling with 155,000.

Small Pot for Medic

Nenad Medic and Christian Harder reached a {J-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop where Harder led for 12,000 and Medic made the call. On the {6-Diamonds} turn, both players checked, leading to bet of 16,000 from Medic on the {Q-Diamonds} river. Harder made the call, but folded upon being shown {10-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. Not only did Medic spike the case 10, but he picked up the flush too. Pure greed!

Medic - 551,000
Harder - 165,000

Patterson Down, Patterson Up, Redfern Crippled

After dropping a large pot to Nenad Medic, Tyler Patterson was all in against Thomas Redfern with the flop already out; {2-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}.

Patterson opened {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and Redfern tabled {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}.

The turn and river came {6-Spades}, {3-Diamonds} respectively, and Patterson's flush won him the pot.

Redfern was crippled to just 5,000 chips and Patterson doubled through to 375,000 chips.

Hyong Tough

After a series of lost pots, Chris Hyong Chang has fought back with a double up to 215,000. In a battle of the blinds, John Barch put Hyong Chang all in for a total of 98,000 with {4-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades}, only to find himself dominated by {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{4-Spades}{8-Hearts}. Despite his good form, Barch couldn't quite out-gun his neighbour, Hyong Chang surviving a {5-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{7-Clubs} board to be blessed by the sight of his stack increasing two-fold. Barch down to 490,000.

Don't Mess With Tex

Chris Hyong Chang opened to 24,000 from the cutoff and John "Tex" Barch potted from the button. The blinds released and so too did Chang, but he was non-too pleased.

The very next hand Chang opened to 24,000 and this time Barch made the call.

Both players checked the {K-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop and the {J-Spades} turn, but Chang led for 34,000 on the river. Barch raised to 84,000, Chang re-raised 95,000 more and Barch called all in.

Chang's hand hit the muck as soon as Barch called and we never saw a winner. Barch sent his cards into the muck as he raked in a pot that pushed him over 600,000 chips.

Big Bet Poker

Five players limped in preflop, including Denton Pfister and Tyler Patterson in the blinds. Everyone checked the {A-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop, but Peter Costa took a stab on the {7-Spades} turn with a behemoth of a bet: 8,000. Nenad Medic and Christian Harder folded, but Pfister and Tyler Patterson made the call.

The river was the {J-Spades}, and with both players checking, Costa decided to up the ante by leading for 13,000. This time he received just the one call from Patterson, who quickly mucked his hand upon being shown a triumphant {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{4-Spades}.

Costa - 540,000
Patterson - 180,000

Michael Mixer Eliminated in 13th Place ($12,258)

Thomas Redfern
Thomas Redfern

You can throw Michael into the mix of recent eliminations; he's just been despatched courtesy of Thomas Redfern.

With Redfern bumping it up to 20,000, Mixer came over the top for 65,000 and Redfern called. After the obligatory hesitation, cards were revealed: {K-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} for Redfern, {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Spades}{Q-} for Mixer.

Despite the promise of some post-flop fun and frolics, the board was about as uneventful as it gets, the {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} providing the rail with little in the way of excitement and sending Mixer home.

Pfister Needs a Medic

Five players saw a {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop on Table 369, and all five of them checked around.

After the {7-Clubs} turned though, Nenad Medic bet 16,000 when checked to. Denton Pfister raised to 45,000 and Medic was his only caller.

The river brought the {6-Diamonds} and Medic checked to Pfister who reached for a stack of orange T5,000 chips. He cut out 100,000 worth, but only slid in 20,000 at a time. The dealer stopped him and said that he could only bet the first 20,000-chip stack because it had to be one single motion.

Medic took the initiative and raised to 120,000. Pfister called and mucked when Medic showed {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for a rivered straight.

Pfister slipped to 114,000 chips and Medic's up to 600,000.
