Jeffrey Coddington Eliminated in 19th Place ($8,064)

Jeffrey Coddington was all in for his tournament life against Ashkan Razavi before the flop and the hands were tabled:

Showdown
Coddington: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Razavi: {J-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}

The {6-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} flop was clean and Coddington's kings remained ahead.

"No funny stuff," Coddington said to the dealer.

Jinx much?

The turn and river were both jacks ({J-Hearts} then {J-Clubs}) giving Razavi trips and eliminating Coddington from the tournament.

Razavi now has 376,500 chips while Coddington will have to settle with $8,064.

Young Phan is Eliminated in 21st Place ($8,064)

Young Phan
Young Phan

After a series of raises preflop, Christian "charder30" Harder and Young Phan were heads up when the flop fell {8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}.

Phan led for the pot, Harder re-potted and before you knew it both players were all in.

Showdown
Harder: {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}
Phan: {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs}

Phan led with a set of threes, but Harder held a super, mega wrap.

"Pair the board!" Phan pleaded. "Pair the board!"

The {5-Diamonds} on the turn made one of Charder's many straight possibilities and the board didn't pair on the river. Rather the {9-Hearts} bricked and Phan was eliminated in 21st place.

Harder's heater now has him sitting with 465,000 chips.

Small Chink in the Armour

Three players checked an {8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop only for Blair Rodman to bet 12,000 on a {K-Hearts} turn. Peter Costa raised to 30,000 and Denton Pfister called. After Rodman had ducked out of the way, the dealer lay an {8-Spades} river onto the felt. Both players checked allowing Frister to take the pot with {Q-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{5-Spades}.

Pfister - 293,000
Costa - 340,000

Cory Albertson Eliminated in 22nd Place ($8,064)

Christian Harder

If you were searching for proof of the volatility of Omaha, then look no further than Cory Albertson. It seems like only moments ago that I was reporting him as being one of the top five chip leaders, and now, inside the level, he finds himself heading towards the rail with a disappointing $8.064 in his pocket.

In the end, it was previous nemesis Christian Harder who picked up the pieces, Albertson moving all in preflop with {J-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and being looked up by Harder's {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{3-Hearts}{K-Hearts}. The {4-Spades}{3-Spades}{J-Clubs} flop provided a glimmer of hope, but any rays of hope were quickly distinguished on an anti-climatic {3-Clubs} turn and {9-Spades} river.

Harder is now on 295 and although stoic on the surface, will surely be turning cartwheels on the inside. A debut WSOP final table beckons.

Charder Cripples Albertson

Cory Albertson opened to 13,500 from middle position and Christian "charder30" Harder was his only caller out of the big blind.

The dealer flopped {7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and Harder checked. Albertson continued for 17,500 and Harder potted to 82,500. Albertson re-potted and Harder called all in:

Showdown
Albertson: {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Harder: {Q-Clubs}{q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

Harder had an over pair and a flush draw, but Albertson had a better flush draw. Neither the turn ({7-Spades}) or the river ({4-Diamonds}) were hearts though, and Harder doubled to 260,000 chips.

Albertson is crippled, left with only 26,000 chips.

Charles Sylvestre Eliminated in 23rd Place ($8,064)

Charles Sylvestre eliminated in 23rd.
Charles Sylvestre eliminated in 23rd.

Charles Sylvestre is now pushing up the poker daisies. With Klinghammer Thibaut raising to 17,000 and Tex Barch making the call, Sylvestre decided to make his move and duly pushed all in for 9,000. Both players called.

The {3-Clubs}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{A-Clubs} board was checked all the way down to the river where Thibaut reached for a handful of orange chips. Barch immediately folded.

"Nice river," sighed Sylvestre flipping {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{K-Spades} aggressively onto the felt. Thibaut had {6-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}.

Nice Shootin' Tex

Nenad Medic started the action by raising to 6,000 from early position. Action folded to John "Tex" Barch who three-bet to 21,000 and Charles Sylvestre put in a fourth bet.

Medic decided to get out of the way and Barch moved all in. Sylvestre unhappily called.

Showdown
Barch: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Sylvestre: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{J-Clubs}

The {4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} flop was terrible for Sylvestre, and he was drawing dead after the {2-Spades} turned. The {K-Spades} on the river poured salt in the wound and Barch was pushed a huge pot doubling him to 240,000 chips.

Sylvestre was crippled, left with only 22,000 himself.
