Jones Says Goodbye

All the chips went in the middle preflop in this hand when David Jones committed his last 18,000 and Taurean Davis made the call from the big blind.

Jones' tournament life was on the line and he tabled {a-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Davis showed {5-Clubs}{3-Spades} and we were off to the flop.

The window was the {a-Hearts} giving Jone's a bit of hope, but just after that ace, fell the {2-Hearts} and {4-Clubs} giving Davis the wheel.

The {3-Hearts} on the turn gave Jones the hope of a chop or he would need to pair the board with an ace or deuce to take it down.

The river brought the {4-Hearts} and Jones' day was done. Davis is up to 430,000.

Mathews Exits

After doubling through Erik Cajelais, Clement Thumy was at it again.

He made it 12,500 to go and Harvey Mathews decided it was the right time to move all in. Thumy snap-called with {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} and was well ahead of Mathews {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}.

The flop brought the {a-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. Mathews needed some help on the turn and river to keep his tournament hopes alive. He wouldn't get there with the {5-Clubs} hitting the turn or the {j-Clubs} falling on the river.

Thumy is now sitting with 405,000.

Scharf Doubles Again

Eduard Scharf was all in again at his table in the Amazon Room. This time Javier Etayo had him at risk and the hands were tabled:

Showdown
Scharf: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Etayo: {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}

The board ran {9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and Scharf's tens held doubling him to 250,000 chips.

Etayo slipped to just 30,000.

Mizzed It

From the cutoff, Sorel Mizzi made it 14,000 before James Vanneman bumped it up to 38,000. Mizzi made the call and the two were off to the flop.

The flop came down {k-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts}.

The two checked and the {9-Clubs} fell on the turn.

Again, they checked to the river which brought the {6-Diamonds}.

Mizzi threw in 42,000 and was called by Vanneman who showed {k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} to best Mizzi's {9-Hearts}{q-Hearts}.

Aces Are Good

When we reached the table the flop and turn had already been dealt and the board was {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades}. Farhan Madhani checked to David Jones who bet 47,500 into a pot of about 70,000. Madhani called.

Both players checked the {8-Clubs} on the river and Madhani opened {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}. Jones mucked and Madhani was shipped the pot chipping up to 370,000 chips. Jones is down to 154,000.
