Flowers Uprooted

Dallas Flowers came into the pot raising from the button, and Leonard Martin made the call out of the big blind. Both players drew two cards on the first pull, and Martin led out with a bet. Flowers raised, Martin three-bet, and Flowers made the smooth call.

The second draw saw Flowers asking for two more cards, while Martin was pat from here on out. One more bet from Martin put Flowers all in, and both men patted the last draw and went straight to showdown.

Martin showed up {8-} {7-} {6-} {4-} {3-}, and his eighty-seven has eighty-sixed Flowers from this event in 29th place.

Singer Yanked Offstage

David Singer
David Singer

David Singer was all in on the third draw, needing one card against Christopher McHugh who was standing pat. McHugh turned over {J-} {7-} {6-} {5-} {3-Clubs}, and Singer liked it. "Drawing to a ten," he said, squeezing out his final card.

It was the {K-Spades}, and that's just no good at all. Unable to beat the jack low, Singer is the first man paid here tonight, out in 30th place.

Bubble Boy Is On His Bike

Tony G is the bubble boy
Tony G is the bubble boy

That's right, Tony G is the very bubble boy of Event No. 7 and guess who did the deed? It was the player that had been getting the better of Tony G for almost all of the pots they played together: Chris Fargis. Tony G couldn't beat the {9-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{3-} of Fargis after drawing three, then two, then one. Fargis was pat on all streets.

Tony G quickly exited to the rail and didn't want to stick around. With his elimination, everyone is now in the money.

Tony G Gives Up a Double

Clayton Newman was all in for 6,900 before the draws, and he found action from Tony G, drawing with {8-} {7-} {6-} {2-} (X). Newman patted the whole way, turning over {9-} {6-} {5-} {4-} {3-}. Tony G needed find a three, four or five to send this thing into the money, but his final draw was a frustrating {Q-}, pushing the double to Newman.

"F***!" Tony G let fly with an expletive, slamming the felt with his fist. "Three draws with that hand. Can never hit anything."

Mr. G is down to just 9,500 and looking a bit frustrated over there as he paces around behind his chair.

Uchida Staves Off Elimination

Shunjiro Uchida raised from the small blind, and big blind Jordan Siegel made a covering reraise. Uchida committed the rest of his chips, all in and at risk before the draws.

Who needs draws? Uchida patted the whole way, with Siegel drawing two on each round. At the end, Uchida showed his pat {8-} {7-} {6-} {5-} {3-}, and that was good enough to double Uchida up to 14,000.

Another Bubble Escape

David Singer has just picked up a double up at the hands of David Baker, his new table mate after some rebalancing.

Baker raised from the button, and Singer moved all in for 5,400 from the small blind, drawing two cards on each round. Baker drew a descending three-two-one, but he could not table anything to beat {8-} {7-} {4-} {3-} {2-}, moving Singer up to 11,800.

Level Paused

The clock has been paused in the current level of 1,000-2,000 blinds with limits of 2,000-4,000. Once hand-for-hand play ends and the bubble breaks, the next level will begin.

Bubble Doubles for Elezra

Jordan Siegel raised from the button, and big blind Eli Elezra made the call to come along and draw.

Elezra drew one card on each of the three rounds, while Siegel took two-one-one. On the first, Elezra bet and called a raise from his opponent, and the two men check-checked the second drawing round. On the final round, Elezra check-raised Siegel, and each man put two more big bets into the pot before showdown.

Elezra tabled {8-} {7-} {4-} {3-} {2-}, and his eighty-seven perfect was good enough to earn him another bubble double. He's gone from 3,200 back to 33,000 in just two hands.
