We didn't catch the action or when the money went in, but a three-way pot just occurred that saw Dan Heimiller scoop with a wheel. With a board reading , the following hands were tabled:
Daniel Fuhs opened the pot with a raise to 2,500 from the cutoff and Max Stern was the only caller on the button.
The flop was and Fuhs led for 3,500. The bet was met with a call from Stern and the two players saw the turn. This time Fuhs led for 12,000 but was unhappy was Stern went all in for 31,200. After a minute or two of thought, Fuhs reluctantly put in the necessary chips to call.
Stern held for a straight while Fuhs had for top two pair and a straight draw. The river bricked off to ship Stern the massive pot and leave Fuhs with only 10,000 behind.
We caught up with the action three-handed on a board with the pot around 100,000. Igor Sharaskin was already all in for the 3,000 more he had left and Jacobo Fernandez was faced with a bet that looked to be 11,000 from Juan Caridad. Fernandez thought for a while before he put in the chips for the call.
Caridad turned over for a pair of sevens and an eight low. Fernandez showed for two pair as the players chopped the side-pot. Sharaskin then flipped up for a high pair of kings that was no good but the nut-low which good to split the main pot with Fernandez’s two pair.
Although the action is was unknown, we did see Surindar Sunar table on an ace-high board. He won a large sized pot, enough to get him to 40,000-chip mark.
With 11,000 in the pot, four players saw a flop of . Daniel Alaei was first to act and opted to ship his entire stack of 10,400. One by one his opponents folded, allowing Alaei to take down the pot and essentially double to about 22,000.
Unfortunately, any momentum Alaei had ended a short time later when he was eliminated from the tournament.
We found Theodore Hallenbeck all in and at risk against Anders Taylor on a board. The players hands were as follows.
Taylor:
Hallenbeck:
Taylor was ahead with top two against Hallenbeck’s lower two pair and flush draw for the time being. The river blanked with the and Hallenbeck was eliminated.
