Williams Finds A Double Up

As we got up from our table, we saw that David Williams was all in on a flop that read {6-Clubs}{a-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. Williams held {8-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{a-Clubs} for top two pair, while his opponent held just {5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} for a pair of aces. "Two outs" Williams repeated several times, and indeed, only one of the two remaining sevens would do him in. The {a-Hearts} hit the turn, giving Williams a full house, but his opponent could still hit a seven for a better aces full. The river was the {4-Spades}, and Williams secured the double up to move up to 21,000.

Meanwhile, William's table mate JC Tran was eliminated on the next hand of play

Jonathan Aguiar
Jonathan Aguiar

Over the last 48 hours Jonathan Aguiar has been at the center of controversy at the WSOP. Whether you love him or hate him, he's making his voice heard. He's currently grinding on a short stack of around 6,000.

Considering all the noise he's making on social media, he's been relatively quiet today at the table.

Darcourt Dives Deep

Level 7 : 200/400, 0 ante
Guillaume Darcourt had a lengthy tank.
Guillaume Darcourt had a lengthy tank.

An early position player limped, the player on the button limped and Guillaume Darcourt raised to 1,400 from the small blind. Both players called and the flop came {8-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}. All three players checked to the {5-Diamonds} turn. Darcourt checked, the limper bet 2,400 and got two calls.

The river came {4-Spades}, Darcourt checked and the limper tossed out 8,700 after standing up to look at their stacks. The button folded quickly but Darcourt sat motionless, save for his hand shuffling chips.

Darcourt went deep into the tank and after a lengthy while he counted calling chips to see what he had behind. Darcourt would have been left with just over 3,000 if he called. Some more time passed and the pink-haired Frenchman slowly slid his cards back to the dealer.
