Bach Scoops Negreanu, Assumes Chip Lead

Stud 8

Abe Mosseri{x-}{x-} / {10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} (FOLDED)
David Bach{x-}{x-} / {7-Spades}{5-Hearts}{j-Spades}{a-Spades} / {x-}
Daniel Negreanu{x-}{x-} / {5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs} / {x-}

We reached the table on sixth street, where Negreanu led out. Mosseri released, and Bach raised. Negreanu called, and then checked dark on seventh. Bach bet, and Negreanu raised. Bach re-raised, and Negreanu sighed, then called.

Bach tabled {9-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades} for an ace-high flush and a seventy-five low. Negreanu tabled, {9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for a nine-high flush, and a seventy-six low. Neither were good, and he jumped on top of his chair.

"What the f*** is going on in this game?" he blurted. "What the f***??? I had a straight on fifth. What the f***???"

"Nobody beats him [Bach]," someone at the table told him.

Negreanu doubled through Bach the next hand, but is still under 10,000 chips. Bach appears to be our chip leader - he has over 200,000.

Give Him a Break

Hold'em

When we arrived at Allen Kessler's table, he was busy opening it up with a raise preflop. All of the table got out of the way, except the big blind made the call. On the {q-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{a-Spades} flop, the big blind check-called a bet from Kessler and then both player's checked the turn ({8-Diamonds}) and the river ({8-Clubs}).

At showdown, Kessler's opponent tabled {q-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Kessler said, "give me a break," as he turned over his {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. "I've played one hold'em hand all day," Kessler added.

As Kessler's opponent raked in the pot, he said something about being in the big blind, while Kessler watched on, still not impressed. Despite losing this small pot, Kessler has had a great start to the day and sits high up the chip leader board.

Clements Chips Up Through Deeb

Hold'em

We came up on this hand on the flop between Brett Richey, Freddy Deeb and Scott Clements. The board showed {10-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {4-Hearts}, Richey bet, Deeb two-bet and Clements three-bet. Richey let his hand go and Deeb called.

The turn came {4-Diamonds} and Deeb check-called 4,000. The river came {9-Spades}, Deeb checked and Clements bet 4,000. Deeb called and then mucked when Clements tabled {A-Clubs} {10-Spades} for trip tens.

Kravchenko Crushed

Alex Kravchenko
Alex Kravchenko

Hold'em

Alexander Kravchenko is no longer involved in this tournament, with his last hand playing out during a round of Limit Hold'em.

When we arrived at the table, Kravchenko was all-in holding {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and had to come up against an opponent's {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}. The {6-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts} board would bring no help for Kravchenko as he was sent out of the tournament area.

Sexton Up, Brunson Down

Mike Sexton
Mike Sexton

Stud

When we arrived at Mike Sexton's and Todd Brunson's table, those two were involved in a stud hand and it was already at showdown. Sexton had tabled his hole cards - {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and his {j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{9-Clubs} board was still on the felt. Brunson was busy mucking his hand, flashing {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{q-Clubs} and looking disgruntled as he did so.
