Young Check-Raises River

Brandon Young led out with the board reading, {6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. An opponent raised, and Young made it three bets. His opponent called.

The turn was the {7-Hearts}, and Young slowed down, checking to his opponent. He bet, and Young called.

The river was another six - the {6-Hearts} - and Young checked again. His opponent bet, and Young check-raised. His opponent tank-folded, leaving only two big bets behind, and Young won the pot.

Pilgrim Rebuilds

Dwyte Pilgrim
Dwyte Pilgrim

Dwyte Pilgrim lost most of his stack before the break when he ran aces into a set of sixes, but he's already increased his stack by nearly 10 times here in Level 13.

On the first hand, action folded to Pilgrim on the button and he called all in for his last 2,200. Jonathan Cohen and the player in the big blind came along and the board ran out {K-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. Both of Pilgrim's opponents showed queens and fives, but Pilgrim tabled {K-Hearts}{9-Spades} for a better two pair and tripled up.

On the next hand, Pilgrim was all in preflop against the same two players. He had {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}, Cohen had {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} and the other player had {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. The dealer spread a board of {A-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and once again Pilgrim finished with the best of it. He's back up to around 19,000. Cohen was chopped down to 33,000 and the other player was eliminated.

Duhamel and Ho Clash

Action folded to Maria Ho who opened with a raise from the button. Jonathan Duhamel three-bet from the small blind and it folded back to Ho who called.

A {Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{A-Spades} flop was shown to the two players and Duhamel continued out. Ho quickly called and the {5-Diamonds} turned. Duhamel bet once again and Ho flung in another call.

The {3-Hearts} river caused Duhamel to slow down. He checked to Ho who would not let the hand go to a showdown so easily, as she tossed out a bet. Duhamel flicked his hand away and Ho took down the pot.

Lee Leaves, Shen Building

Christopher Lee was heads up with Chek Shen, and the board read {j-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades}. Lee check-called a bet, and the turn was the {5-Hearts}. Lee checked, Shen bet, and Lee called.

The {q-Hearts} fell on the river, and Lee led out for the first time. Shen raised enough to put Lee all in, and Lee tank-called.

Shen turned over two red nines for a set, and Lee mucked his hand before leaving the Tan Section of the Amazon Room.

Bonomo Turns Quads Against Boyd

We caught up with Justin Bonomo and Dutch Boyd staring at a flop of {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. Bonomo checked, Boyd bet and Bonomo fired back with a raise. Boyd called and the turn was the {8-Clubs}. Bonomo led out this time and Boyd raised. Bonomo returned fire with a three-bet and Boyd quickly called.

The river was the {3-Hearts} and Bonomo tossed in another bet. Boyd thought for about 30 seconds before flicking in a call. Bonomo flipped over {8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for quad eights, and Boyd mucked.
