Volpe Finds a Double

Level 15

2-7 Triple Draw

Paul Volpe raised all in for his last 28,500 under the gun and Joe Cassidy called him from the big blind. The former player ending up drawing 1-1-Pat while Cassidy drew 2-2-Pat.

"You've got it," Cassidy said when Volpe stood pat behind. "Jack."

Volpe then tabled the {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. Cassidy showed the {j-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and asked the dealer to rabbit hunt to see if he would have got either a seven or eight had he drawn. The dealer informed him that rabbit hunting was not allowed and wasn't going to oblige. At that point Volpe sneakily grabbed the card in question and revealed a {7-}!

Had Cassidy drew one, Volpe would have been eliminated.

Seed Doubles Through Juanda in PLO

Level 15

Pot-Limit Omaha

We didn't catch Huck Seed's recent double until after the hand when the dealer was pushing the pot. What we do know is that Seed doubled through John Juanda holding {7-Spades}{8-Spades}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} on a {6-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{q-Spades}. Seed was all smiles and mentioned that he was hoping his nines were good when the money went in (which was likely the flop), but Juanda had held top two.

Volpe Left Very Short

Level 15

Paul Volpe

2-7 Triple Draw

From the cutoff seat, Joe Cassidy raised. Paul Volpe reraised from the small blind, and Cassidy called. On the first draw, Volpe drew two, and Cassidy did the same. Volpe then bet, and Cassidy called.

On the second draw, both players took one. Volpe checked, and Cassidy checked behind. Then, both players took one on the final draw.

After the final draw, Volpe checked. Cassidy bet, and Volpe folded. When he folded, Volpe showed the {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} for a pair of sevens and wasn't too impressed with drawing a pair.

Chidwick's Straight

Level 15

Pot Limit Omaha

Mike Gorodinsky opened to 16,000 from the cut-off, and was called by Stephen Chidwick on the button, as well as Justin Bonomo on the big blind. The flop came down {6-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs}, as Bonomo checked his option. Gorodinsky threw in a continuation bet of 30,000, which only Chidwick called, as the {10-Hearts} fell on the turn. Gorodinsky this time opted to check, as Chidwick reached for his chips, and threw out 85,000. After a short pause, he was called, as the {6-Clubs} completed the board. Both players then checked, before Chidwick rolled over his {5-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for a straight, which saw Gorodinsky muck his hand.

Greenstein Sent to the Rail

Barry Greenstein

Stud-8

Barry Greenstein: {j-Hearts}{7-Hearts} / {a-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Spades}{9-Spades} / {k-Hearts}
Minh Ly: {j-Hearts}{6-Hearts} / {j-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Spades} / {q-Clubs}

We picked up the action of fourth when Barry Greenstein, who has cashed in this event four times, check-called all in after Minh Ly bet.

Ly was ahead with a pair of jacks, and while Greenstein didn't make a better high by sixth, he was eyeing up half the pot if he could catch the right low card. Unfortunately for him, he received the useless {K-Hearts} and Ly's jacks held to take down the pot.

Gray Out

Level 15

Omaha-8

We reached the table on a board of {10-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{j-Spades}, where after a series of betting, Andrey Zaichenko and Jason Gray were all in and at risk agains Ofir Mor.

Zaichenko: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Mor: {a-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Gray: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}

Mor and Gray both had low draws, but no low came as the {9-Diamonds} bricked off on the river. Zaichenko more than doubled to 230,000 chips, while Gray is out.
