Dinner Time

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Players are going on a one-hour dinner break, and purple T500 chips will be off the tables when they return.

Ruberto Rubs Out Pollak

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Benjamin Pollak.
Benjamin Pollak.

After Benjamin Pollak made it 12,000 from early position, Tony Ruberto re-raised from the button to a total of 28,000.

Pollak made the call, then check-raised all in on the {q-Spades}{6-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop. Ruberto called instantly with {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and Pollack would need some serious help with {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}. None came on the {7-Clubs} turn or {9-Diamonds} river and as Pollak exits 27th, we are down to just 26 players remaining.

Seiver Tanks and Mucks

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Scott Seiver bet 45,000 from the big blind after the board came {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{j-Spades}, and Chino Rheem shoved in for 80,000 more from the button. Seiver went deep into the tank, mouthing "wow" a few times while he thought. He began quietly working out the hand outloud, speculating about possible holdings Rheem could have. Finally, after a few minutes of agonizing, he folded.

"It would really tilt me if you showed me bluff," Seiver said.

"Well, what did you fold?" Rheem asked.

Seiver said he had a six-high flush, and Rheem slid his cards to the dealer.

Esfandiari Out

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Antonio Esfandiari.
Antonio Esfandiari.

Antonio Esfandiari doubled up Humberto Brenes when his jacks lost to the Costa Rican's {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} thanks to a king on the flop and he was left with just 11,000.

He open-shipped it in the very next hand and Chino Rheem raised behind to 27,000. The rest of the table got out of the way and it was Esfandiari's {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts} against Rheem's {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}.

The {4-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Spades}{10-Spades}{q-Diamonds} run out was no help for Esfandiari and he hit the rail.

Seidel Gets Three Streets from Ruberto

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Erik Seidel opened for 14,000 on the button, and Tony Ruberto defended his big blind. Ruberto check-called 14,000 on the {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop, and he called 25,000 more on the {a-Diamonds} turn. Ruberto checked again on the {j-Clubs} river, and Seidel cut out 45,000. This bet gave Ruberto more pause, but he ultimately called.

Seidel showed {6-Spades}{4-Spades} for trips.

Tran's Trips No Good

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
JC Tran busted out with trip aces.
JC Tran busted out with trip aces.

Alex Bilokur bet 26,000 on a flop of {a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{a-Spades}, and JC Tran shoved all in for 61,000 more. Bilokur quickly called, and Tran saw the bad news: his {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} was well behind Bilokur's {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}. Neither the {5-Spades} nor the {j-Spades} were any good for Tran.

Shak Shakes Hinkle

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Blair Hinkle lost all of his chips to Dan Shak.
Blair Hinkle lost all of his chips to Dan Shak.

Dan Shak just busted Blair Hinkle when Shak's {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} made a pair of kings on a board of {10-Spades}{3-Clubs}{4-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} to best Hinkle's {a-}{j-}. The two had been in a few reraising confrontations that led to the two getting it all in there, Shak said.
