Reynolds Gets Three Streets of Value

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

William Reynolds opened the preflop betting with a raise to 5,000 from his seat in early position and his only customer was Ivan Freitez who was seated in the big blind and receiving a massage.

Freitez checked the {7-Clubs}{A-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop, Reynolds bet 5,500 and Freitez called. It was a similar scenario on the {5-Spades} turn, Freitez checked, Reynolds bet 13,000 and Freitez called. On the {8-Spades} river, Freitez check-called a 17,000 bet and mucked when Reynolds flipped over {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}.

See You Later, Baby

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Scotty Nguyen
Scotty Nguyen

We saw Scotty Nguyen exiting the tournament area, which is usually a sign that points to elimination. Sure enough, a quick check at Table 363 revealed that he had recently fallen.

David Nicholson did the deed, and he explained that he had opened with {a-}{a-} from the hijack and Nguyen shoved from the blind with {5-}{5-}. Nicholson obviously made the call, and the board ran out a clean {9-}{7-}{7-}{4-}{3-}.

That's all, baby!

Dragon Swoops in on the River

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

David Pham, in the small blind, checked to Thayer Rasmussen in the big blind on a board reading {J-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. Rasmussen fired a bet of 6,700 and Pham called.

Both players checked the arrival of the {3-Hearts} on the turn, prompting they dealer to place the {8-Diamonds} onto the river. Pham became the aggressor and bet 8,500 and Rasmussen gave up.

The man known as "The Dragon" has another reason to be happy; not only did he win the pot, but he has a bet that Japan will beat Ivory Coast in their World Cup match and Japan currently lead 1-0.

High Five From Sands

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

We happened upon the action with 30,000 or so in the pot and a board reading {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{j-Spades}{3-Hearts}. It appeared David "Doc" Sands had checked from the big blind, and Daniel Strelitz bet 16,200 from the button. Sands thought for a few moments before announcing that he was all in for 48,500 total, and Strelitz began to think.

Eventually he released his hand, and Sands took the opportunity to show one of his cards — the {5-Diamonds}!

Laplante Finds Bullets

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Ben Warrington raised to 5,000 from under the gun, one player folded and Ryan Laplante reraised to 11,400. The next player to act folded, but Roberto Romanello put in a raise of his own and made it 20,200 to continue.

One by one the active players folded, including Warrington, the initial raiser. Laplante announced he was all-in and Romanello instantly called.

Romanello: {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}
Laplante: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}

The {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop was safe for Laplante's aces, and the {6-Hearts} on the turn took away the chance of Romanello hitting a runner-runner straight. The {8-Spades} completed the board and Romanello handed over 48,900 of his stack.
