Vieira Eliminates Bohlman on the Stone Bubble

Level 20
Scott Bohlman
Scott Bohlman

Razz

John Hennigan was the bring in with a six. Scott Seiver called with a four, as did Scott Bohlman to put himself all in with his three. Joao Vieira then completed with a deuce, and Seiver called.

Fourth street saw two checks, before a bet on fifth street from Vieira led to a fold from Seiver.

Scott Bohlman: 7x3x/3x5xKxAx/Xx
Joao Vieira: 9x5x/2xKx8x3x/Xx

Vieira drew a 4x to finish with an eight-five. Bohlman had the opportunity to beat his opponent's hand, but a 10x as his last card sent him home on the stone bubble.

After over three hours of real-time play, the bubble has burst. Remaining players are entitled to a minimum of $41,869.

Vieira Eliminates Hellmuth, Then Knocks Out Mercier

Level 17

Razz

Phil Hellmuth: Ax7x/Kx4xKx9x/Xx
Joao Vieira: Ax4x/6x9xJx8x/Xx

Vieira completed with a six. Action folded around to Hellmuth, who upgraded his bring in to a call. "This is so sick," said Hellmuth.

"I've seen sicker," quipped tablemate John Hennigan.

The last of Hellmuth's chips made their way in on fourth street and the cards were revealed. With one card left to come, Hellmuth would need to improve to overcome Vieira's made nine-eight. He quickly turned over his final card, a Jx, and wished everyone luck as he exited the tournament area.

Vieira's ascent up the leaderboard did not end there, though, as Jason Mercier exited just a couple of hands later at the hands of Vieira.
