Ivey Eliminated By Katchalov

Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

Right before the start of the break we lost Phil Ivey. Eugene Katchalov, who took all the chips from the 8-time WSOP bracelet winner, explained to us what happened.

Katchalov raised from the cutoff with {A-}{Q-} and Ivey defended his big blind.

The flop came down {A-}{J-}{10-}, rainbow, and Katchalov bet 2,500. Ivey went on to check-raise to 6,000, after which Katchalov put in 15,000. Ivey, who started the hand with around 50,000, moved all in and Katchalov called.

Ivey showed {8-}{9-}, and was looking to complete his straight draw. The turn and river both brought blanks, and that was it. Katchalov is cruising with 129 players remaining in this event.

Cheong Takes the Lead

Joseph Cheong
Joseph Cheong

Joseph Cheong and Philippe Boucher have been battling a lot here on Day 2. Just before the last break, the two got involved in a four-bet pot with Boucher having position.

Cheong had opened, Boucher three-bet, Cheong four-bet and Boucher called before the flop came down {J-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. Cheong checked, and Boucher fired 8,500. Cheong called.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds}, and Cheong checked. Boucher stayed on the gas with a bet of 14,600, which Cheong called.

The river was the {K-Clubs}, and both players checked.

Cheong showed the {K-Hearts}{K-Spades} for a rivered set of kings, and Boucher mucked his hand.

Wade Sent to the Wayside

Tristan Wade
Tristan Wade

Keven Stammen opened for 2,200 from the cutoff only to have Tristan Wade move all in from the small blind for 27,000. Mikhail Petrov then made the call from the big blind and Stemmen got out of the way.

Wade was in big trouble with his {A-}{10-} as Petrov held the far superior {A-}{Q-}. The board ran out dry, and Petrov's ace-queen high ended up taking down the pot and sending a crestfallen Wade to the rail.

Win a Trip to Manchester United vs Braga Thanks to PartyPoker

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

PartyPoker have launched a fantastic promotion that will see someone — hopefully you — walk away with two tickets to the Manchester United versus Braga UEFA Champions League match on October 23, 2012, plus expenses thrown in for good measure!

The lucky winner of this promotion will receive two tickets to the match, travel expenses and Legendary Treble Suite hospitality.

In order to have a chance at getting your hands on this fantastic prize, all you have to do is share a screenshot of a poker hand on the PokerNews Facebook Page. Really, it's that simple.

Play poker at a real-money table on PartyPoker during September 24 and October 7, 2012, and be prepared to take a screenshot of anything you think may be interesting. If you are involved in a hand that is a huge cooler, then take a screenshot of it. Have you just witnessed a horrible bad beat? Then share it with the world. The owner of the screenshot with the most likes will win the package.

All we ask is that the screen shot be at least 800x600 in resolution and that it has all of the core elements — username and hand number — recognizable, that the action the screenshot is portraying takes place between September 24 and October 7 and that the screenshot is genuine and has not been altered regarding its content. Only the player who played the hand in the screenshot is allowed to share the picture and therefore eligible for the prize.

PokerNews would like to wish you all the very best of luck and we cannot wait to see the images that you submit!
