Only All In!

Christopher Brammer
Christopher Brammer

We caught the action on a {Q-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop when Christopher Brammer checked from the big blind to Timothy Adams. Adams was in middle position and bet 9,300. Sergii Baranov, the tournament chip leader, raised to 21,000 from the cutoff.

The action was back on Brammer who decided to three-bet to 50,000.

"Crazy hand," Daniel Negreanu said to us as we watched Adams contemplate his move. Negreanu said Adams had raised pre flop and both Baranov and Brammer called. Adams finally kicked it in leaving Baranov with a decision.

"How much you have?" Baranov asked.

"I started the hand with around 250,000," Brammer replied.

"All in!" the Ukrainian announced quickly.

"Only?" Brammer said with a look of disgust on his face.

"No. I said all in!" Baranov said, after which Brammer got the message and quickly folded.

"Why not?" Baranov smiled at Brammer who seemed annoyed.

"Because I had nine-high!" Brammer sighed.

Brammer thought that Baranov said "Only" in a mocking matter when the Brit announced what his stack was. When it was cleared up that Baranov indeed said "all in" Brammer cooled down. Baranov seems to be in full control of Table 9, as he's miles ahead of the rest.

More Hellmuth

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Phil Hellmuth was just seen scooping in a pot, but it wasn't without some vintage Hellmuth ranting.

"You wanna win 'em all, huh?" said Hellmuth looking towards the right half of the table. "All right! Put your chips in there then! I was all in!"

After a few seconds, he continued, "These guys wanna beat me with seven-eight offsuit, king-queen, flop flushes when I make aces up... jeesh!"

Baranov Takes a Big Hit; Still Chip Lead

Daniel Negreanu opened with a raise only to have Timothy Adams three-bet from the next seat over. It folded to chip leader Sergii Baranov who moved out a four-bet. Negreanu got out of the way and Adams pushed out a five-bet. Baranov six-bet all in and Adams called 220,200 for his tournament life.

Baranov: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}
Adams: {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}

The flop fell {4-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and Adams was able to score a huge double up, boosting him to about 450,000 in chips. While Baranov was forced to ship so many chips across the table, he is still the largest stack in the room.

Good Fold?

Fung Cheung, bluffing or not?
Fung Cheung, bluffing or not?

The board read {6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{10-Hearts} when [Removed:163] bet 24,500 into Fung Cheung who was in the cutoff. Cheung moved all in for 109,600 and Sheikh went into the tank for a long time.

Minutes went by, and Sheikh seemed to be close to calling numerous times. He had the amount owed counted out, but eventually he couldn't pull the trigger.

"I folded two pair," Sheikh said as he laid his hand down.

"Good fold," Cheung said as she mucked her cards face down.

"You should know," Scott Seiver started, "That's the same thing she said during the €50,000 in Barcelona. Her cards were accidentally flipped up and she had total air," Seiver smiled as some players started laughing.

Sheikh will never know if he was beat or not, and Cheung added some more chips to her stack. We are just 18 players away from the money.

Julius Hits 300K

Kyle Julius
Kyle Julius

When we arrived at the table, a final board of {J-Spades}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{K-Spades} was in the middle of the felt, and Kyle Julius had a bet of 45,300 in front of him with Sergii Baranov in the tank. After a minute or two, Baranov called, but could only muck when Julius rolled over the nuts with a Broadway straight — {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}.

After scooping the pot, Julius now has 300,000 in chips. Baranov dropped below 500,000.

Mercier Eliminates Trickett

Philipp Gruissem opened with a preflop raise and Jason Mercier three-bet the action to 12,900. It folded around to Sam Trickett in the big blind, who, after a moment or so, moved out a four-bet to 25,800.

Gruissem folded his hand and Mercier announced a five-bet all in. Trickett called and was at risk for his tournament life.

Trickett: {A-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Mercier: {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}

The board fell {5-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Trickett was unable to improve. He was forced to ship the rest of his stack over to Mercier who is now sitting on about 290,000.

"Let's Gamble"

Action folded around to Prosper Masquelier on the button and he raised to 6,000. "I read a book that said to raise in position," he explained. Jesse Sylvia was having none of it and raised to 17,600 from the small blind.

The big blind folded and Masquelier splashed in a call while saying, "Let's gamble." The {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{A-Clubs} flop saw Sylvia fire out 20,500, and Masquelier gave it some thought before showing the {A-Hearts} and folding. It looks like he wasn't in the gambling mood after all.
