Paul Tedeschi opened with a raise to 5,000 from the cutoff seat, and Phil Hellmuth reraised to 30,000 from the big blind. Tedeschi thought for a minute, then folded.

Jesse Sylvia opened for 5,000 under the gun and received a call from Dan Smith in middle position. Anaras Alekberovas then three-bet to 25,000 from the button, leaving just 3,900 behind, and Sylvia made the call. Smith got out of the way and it was heads-up action to the flop. Sylvia wasted little time in leading out for 5,000 and Alekberovas called off.

Neither the turn nor river helped the young Lithuanian, and he was eliminated just shy of the first break.
The board read when Joe Kuether bet 32,000 from the small blind. Salman Behbehani was on the button and he tanked for a while before making the call.
Kuether showed , and Behbehani seemed very frustrated with the result of this hand. Kuether is up there with the big stacks while Behbehani will have to fight for a spot in the money.
Daniel Negreanu opened to 5,200 from the button and Remy Biechel three-bet to 19,300 from the big blind. Negreanu called and the flop fell . Biechel continued for 36,300 and Negreanu called.
The turn was the and Biechel moved all in for 104,900. Negreanu went into the tank for a while
"I'm only scares of aces, my man, sheesh," said Negreanu. "Alright let me do some math...I'm not getting the right price. Damn it! Why am I not getting the right price. I feel lucky, though!"
Eventually Negreanu let go of his hand and Biechel took down the pot. With this hit, Negreanu is now sitting on a stack of 217,000.
Just before the break, Scott Seiver opened for 5,100 under the gun and cleared the field all the way to last Max Silver, who called in he small blind. Sergey Baburin then opted to move all in from the big blind for 82,400, and Seiver responded by moving all in over the top for approximately 170,000. Silver, who finished in eighth place in this event last year, folded face up.

Baburin was dominated, but it wasn't until the flop fell that he stood and collected his things. The turn was of no consequence, while the river improved Seiver to a flush and sent the Frenchman to the rail short of the money.
