Collopy Finishes Fischman

James Collopy: In the money
James Collopy: In the money

After a struggle back for a while, Scott Fischman had finally fallen low enough that an all-in match-up like his {7-Spades} {7-Hearts} vs. Jim Collopy's {K-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} was going to see the chips go in. Preflop Collopy set him in by merely moving his tower of blue 5k chips in the middle and Fischman nodded his assent. Collopy stood up and did a sort of stretch-yawn combo as if the board pairing him as it emerged {J-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {A-Hearts} was about as interesting as waiting for weedkiller to finally get rid of the dandelions in your driveway.

Both players took the race unblinkingly, with Fischman offering, "Good game," quietly.

Less for Moorman

"Grab your pencil, Dana, this could be it!" called over Neil Channing. The board read {10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, and he was betting 8,800 from the button. Chris Moorman tanked up briefly before making the call.

They saw a {j-Diamonds} river and Moorman checked. This time the bet from Channing was 23,500 - and although it wasn't "it" as Channing had put it, Moorman folded and Channing's lead is now approximately 160,000 to Moorman's 80,000.

Snapshots of Action

Advantage Howard Lederer
Advantage Howard Lederer

Around the room at any one time ten matches could suddenly find the confrontation to end them, or send one player into a decisive lead or begin a comeback! Sometimes hands aren't turnaround ones, they're just the latest, though:

Neil Channing vs. Chris Moorman: "He's bluffed me three times. That I know of," admits Channing, before nonchalantly four-betting his young opponent preflop and picking up 12,500. He holds the lead, but not by a ton.

Howard Lederer vs. Shawn Buchanan: Buchanan drops to 80k after Lederer calls him down on the river with {J-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} on a King-high rainbow board. Buchanan only shows the {A-Hearts} and concedes the pot.

Better and Better for Collopy

Jim Collopy has taken a commanding lead against Full Tilt's Scott Fischman after a hand that got better and better for him. Collopy was in the BB and led on the flop, turn and river on a {7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{a-Clubs} board. The last bet was a chunky 33,300 and when Fischman called Collopy revealed {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for top pair that backed into a flush. Fischman down to 40,000 now.

Ziggy No More

Huck Seed has taken care of Ilari Sahamies after a pre-flop raising war saw them all-in. Sahamies opened with a raise and then moved all-in for 85,400 when Seed three-bet him. Seed asked for a count but said he was probably going to call. He got the count and called saying he was gambling.

Sahamies: {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Seed: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

Seed was in way better shape than he thought and stayed there through the {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} board.
