Disgruntled Ivey

There is no doubt the marquee match of round four is the Phil Ivey versus Gus Hansen match. These players know each others game very well and will play very hard against each other. And if you needed more proof the first hand is testament to that.

Hansen limped from the button and called Ivey's 6,000 raise to see a {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop. Ivey led for 8,000 and was called to go to the {j-Hearts} turn. This time he bet 22,000 and once again Hansen called. The river came a dangerous looking {6-Clubs} and Ivey checked to face a 63,000 bet from Hansen. He didn't like it as you could see from his face and after a few minutes thought he angrily slid his cards into the muck.

Round Four: Let's Go!

The remaining players have started what will be either their penultimate or final match of the day. They've already locked up £22,847 for making it through the previous round, and are looking to make it into the final eight and beyond - to tomorrow's semi-final and final, which will be a best two out of three affair. For now though, it's still one-match knockout formula, and there's almost no sound from the final few tables apart from the chip-riffling click.

Round Four Starts at 7pm

The remaining 16 players will be back at 7pm to play out their next round of matches. Here's how they will line up:

Howard Lederer vs. Huck Seed
Martin Kabrhel vs. Jim Collopy
Sondre Svanevik vs. Kevin Eyster
Ram Vaswani vs. Marius Torbergsen
Neil Channing vs. McLean Karr
Gus Hansen vs. Phil Ivey
Saar Wilf vs. Andrew Feldman
Andrew Robl vs. Daniel Negreanu

Finally it Ends

The final match has come to an end. Daniel Steinberg shoved his short stack in from the button and Sondre Svanevik made a quick call from the BB. Showdown:

Steinberg: {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Svanevik: {j-Clubs}{5-Clubs}

The board ran {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{7-Spades}

It was all over by the turn and the players shook hands before being the last two to leave the tournament floor.

Double Back from Steinberg

"This is insane!" said Sondre Svanevik as he doubled back up to 180k and the chip lead, while both players look like they'd much rather be getting a bite to eat than continually flipping for the next round.

"What time is it," asked a tired-looking Svanevik of the dealer. It's 6:15, with just 45 minutes left until the next round is meant to start. One of these players will be in it, but it is really anyone's guess which one.

The latest instalment of all-in preflop saw Daniel Steinberg with the {A-Spades} {10-Spades} in good shape to finally win this match vs. Svanevik's {K-Hearts} {3-Hearts}. All holding on the {6-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {6-Clubs} flop, and on the {7-Diamonds} turn, but the {K-Diamonds} river had exactly the same reaction from both participants, a head-in-hands pained expression.

"Jesus Christ!"
"This is torture!"

Double Back from Steinberg

With the blinds this high a pair in normally good to get it in when heads-up and that's just what happened in our final pairing. Sondre Svanevik raised to 12,000 from the button and then pushed when Daniel Steinberg made it 36,000 to go. Steinberg shrugged and called.

Svanevik: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Steinberg: {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}

The board ran {4-Spades}{9-Clubs}{2-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades}. Svanevik's bullets held to give him a 172,00 stack.

Double Back for Steinberg

This is a strange one for sure - the Steinberg/Svanevik match-up is being played at light speed, most decisions taking a split second for both players and multiple pots of a couple of big blinds each heading in both directions. Sondre Svanevik pushed preflop recently after a button raise to 12k, but Steinberg passed quickly and it looked like there wouldn't be a showdown in over 25 minutes. Suddenly, an all in preflop situation came out of nowhere, with button Svanevik showing down {10-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} vs. all-in Steinberg's {A-Clubs} {8-Hearts}. The board brought no upset for the Ace-high and Steinberg regains the chip lead with 170,000.
