Event 10 - $2,500 Omaha/Seven Card Stud Hi-Low-8 or Better

Day 3 Completed

Tom Chambers Eliminated in Second Place

Stud-8

After a little back and forth, there was an exciting moment when Chambers was all in on fifth street, but they chopped it and play continued.

Omaha-8
Back to Omaha, and the tension was mounting, both players now standing up out of their chairs, and a huge crowd gathered to watch the David and Goliath chip stacks battle it out.

Rouhani called on the button, and Chambers raised. Call.

Flop: {3-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} and Chambers bet. Rouhani raised. Chambers reraised, and they agreed that he was all in right there.

Chambers: {9-Clubs} {2-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} {10-Clubs}
Rouhani: {3-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} {2-Hearts} {9-Spades}

Turn: {A-Clubs}

River: {3-Spades}

And making quads on the river, Tom Chambers is eliminated in second place, and Farzad Rouhani wins first place and that coveted bracelet.

Chambers in Trouble

Omaha-8

Moments later, Chambers finds himself nearing the felt and trapped in his own chamber of horrors with just 145,000.

On a flop of {Q-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, Rouhani's bet is raised by Chambers. "Uh-oh," says Rouhani as he calls.

A {K-Diamonds} turn leads to more aggression from Chambers, and again Rouhani calls.

Both players check down the {J-Clubs} river, leading to Rouhani taking yet another pot down with {5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}.

Chambers is in dire straits now, but there's no money for nothing in this game, and it's not over until that final chip is gone.

Rouhani Continues To Dominate

Omaha-8

The two players reach a river of a {3-Clubs}{6-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{K-Spades} board after Chambers had bet through the streets.

As Chambers checks, Rouhani comments, "Ah, check on the river, interesting, eight-seven doesn't check the river. I bet!"

Reluctantly, Chambers makes the call, to which Rouhani responds, "Three kings, I got lucky," showing {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{5-Hearts} in the process.

Chambers mucks and is now down to 300,000.

Chambers Made Sad

Stud-8:

After conceding a hand to Chambers on fourth street, muttering, "Take this one down," as Chambers boasted three hearts up, the two tangled in a more serious manner.

Chambers was the aggressor all the way down until sixth street, when he made a pained call to Rouhani's bet upon making a pair of tens up.

Chambers: {5-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {9-Spades} {3-Hearts}
Rouhani: {7-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {10-Spades}

Rouhani bet seventh street, and Chambers folded instantly.

Down to 500,000.

Heads Up

Heads up, Rouhani says to Chambers, "All right buddy, it's just you and I. We chuck all the enemies out, we don't have to be any more."

Chambers takes the initial lead, turning a set of fives in stud to beat Rouhani's flopped set of fours. "Wow!" he concedes. "Nice hand." Chambers moves up to around 650,000 -- still behind, but closing in.

"Miami" John Cernuto Eliminated in Third Place

Omaha-8

Rouhani raises from the button, and both Tom Chambers and John Cernuto call from the blinds.

Flop: {J-Spades} {10-Hearts} {7-Spades} and it checks to Miami John, who bets. Rouhani raises, Chambers gets out of the way, and Miami John calls.

They agree that Miami John is all in on the {5-Hearts} turn, and they flip over their cards.

Cernuto: {10-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {3-Clubs}
Rouhani: {5-Spades} {9-Spades} {A-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}

River: a punch-in-the-gut {K-Spades}, sending Cernuto to the rail in third place.

Yueqi Zhu Eliminated in 4th for $63,807

Omaha-8

The action is faster than a cheetah on roller skates now, Yueqi Zhu falling at the hands of Farzad Rouhani after numerous failed attempts.

One of those missiles that went astray was fired the very hand prior to his exit, Rouhani taking a shot at his foe with {A-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} versus {3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.

Sadly for the chip leader, the board didn't oblige, coming {6-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for the split pot.

"What the hell was that?" joked Rouhani. "I read somewhere that this hand was meant to be good."

-------

Moments later, Zhu was finally gone after the pluckiest of performances that would have made Rocky Balboa look like a quitter.

All in once again against Rouhani, Zhu had {5-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{9-Spades} but found himself up against the foreboding sight of Rouhani's {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. No help on the board and Zhu was gone

"I guess I got it," finsihed Rouhani as Zhu left to a polite applause.

Miami John Doubles Through

Omaha-8

Joy for John Cernuto who has doubled up what was looking like a very short stack indeed thanks to neighbor and chip daddy Farzad Rouhani.

Cernuto raised the button, Rouhani, after asking for a count on Zhu's stack in the big blind, announced reraise, and a pot-committed Cernuto called.

Cernuto = {Q-Hearts}{6-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Rouhani = {A-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

Board = {5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{K-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}

A nice friendly board for Cerntuo sees the veteran shoot up to the 160,000 mark.
