Event #51: $1,500 HORSE, End of Day 2

Phil Hellmuth: Day 2 Chip leader
Phil Hellmuth: Day 2 Chip leader
Out of Day 1's staggering 803 players in the $1,500 HORSE event, a mere 179 remained as Day 2 began. Though many of the name pros had fallen by the wayside, an unusual face for a mixed-game event was sitting at the top of the chip counts: Phil Hellmuth, in search of bracelet #12 and his first in a non-hold'em event.

Though Hellmuth would trade the lead with a dozen other players throughout the day, by the end of Day 2, he'd have it back again to himself. To win the event, though, he'll have to get through such tough-as-nails poker players as Victor Ramdin, Jens Voertmann, and Keith Sexton.

Twenty-one players remained as the clock hit 3:30 a.m. here on Day 2, and all of these players are coming back Tuesday at 3 p.m. PDT, to play to a single bracelet winner.

As always, official chip counts and table assignments when they are available!

Joe Hachem Eliminated in 24th ($6,686)

Hachem: Out in 24th
Hachem: Out in 24th
Stud:

Joe Hachem brings it in with the x-x / {2-Hearts} and Steven Diano calls with the x-x / {J-Clubs}. James Schaaf raises with x-x / {Q-Hearts} and both call.

On fourth, Hachem leads out with {2-Clubs} and Diano calls with {10-Clubs}. Schaaf folds {10-Spades}.

On fifth, Hachem bets {7-Diamonds} and Diano calls {3-Hearts}.

On sixth, Hachem bets {3-Clubs} and Diano calls {3-Spades}.

On seventh, Hachem is all in for 5,500 and DIano calls.

Hachem: ({A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}){2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Diano: ({K-Spades}{9-Clubs}){J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades}{7-Spades}

"Where were you going with that?" Hachem says, incredulous that he lost to 3-3 with his 2-2. Hachem is eliminated. Diano is up to 120,000.

Chip Counts Updated

Phil Hellmuth leads the field again, as he did early in Day 2 action. He's got a commanding 253,000 in chips. Arash Ghaneian has 193,000 and James Schaaf has 187,000.
