Kroesen and Raj Battle Out a Flop

Level 10 : 700/1,400, 200 ante

Ricky Kroesen and Raj Ramakrishnan had taken to a {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{q-Spades} flop and Kroesen had led for 3,000. Ramakrishnan then raised it up to 6,500 and the action was back on Kroesen. After just a few moments, Kroesen raised it up once again, this time making it 17,000. Ramrkishnan didn't look excited about Kroesen's bet and eventually opted to let his cards go, sending the pot to Kroesen.

Chon Wins Off Yan

Level 10 : 700/1,400, 200 ante

There was already a {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} board out on the felt by the time we arrived to find Michael Chon and [Removed:17] involved in a hand. Chon was first to act on the river and bet 7,000 into a pot of over 20,000. Yan thought long and hard about his decision, studying his opponent intently. Eventually Yan made the call and Chon tabled {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. That was strong enough to send Yan's cards into the muck and to scoop up the pot.

Bye Bye Rossiter

Level 11 : 900/1,800, 200 ante

Jeff Rossiter has been battling with a short stack for most of the day but his battle has now come to an end with [Removed:17] claiming his scalp.

Rossiter recently three-bet jammed all in preflop but Yan beat him into the pot with {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} to have Rossiter dominated holding {A-Spades}{10-Spades}. The board bricked out {J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} to leave Yan to take down the pot and end Rossiter’s run in the ANZPT Queenstown Main Event.

Big One for Forsman

Level 11 : 900/1,800, 200 ante

There was a little bit of a commotion over on Andrew Forsman's table, so we went to investigate. We aren't sure of the action prior to our arrival, but what we can tell you is that Forsman was all in for 25,700 on a {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{7-Spades} flop and Lukas Byrns was in the tank. Interestingly, there was already around 90,000 in the middle at this point and Byrns had Forsman covered. Eventually Byrns opted to fold and sent the massive pot to Forsman.

As he raked in his new chips Forsman tabled {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}.

One of Those Big Pots

Level 11 : 900/1,800, 200 ante
Jonathan Bredin is the new chip leader
Jonathan Bredin is the new chip leader

With just a short while left on Day 2 of the ANZPT Queenstown Main Event, Jonathan Bredin is easily the chip leader. He just eliminated [Removed:17] in one of those hands that will go down as "the biggest of the tournament so far."

It started with Bredin opening to 3,600 from middle position. Folded around to [Removed:17] in the big blind and he would three-bet to 9,600. Back on Bredin and he four-bet to 15,600. Yan then five-bet to 29,000 and it was back on Bredin, who moved all in. Yan made a fairly quick call and a huge pot was created.

At this point the players were unaware whom had the most chips, but it was certainly very close with both players having six-figure stacks. Check out the hole cards below.

Yan: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Bredin: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{j-Spades}{5-Spades}, meaning Bredin had won the massive pot. Once the stacks were counted down it Bredin had Yan covered by a small amount and the rest is history.

No Luck for Huang

Level 11 : 900/1,800, 200 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang was down to ten big blinds and moved them all in from the cutoff with king-seven to attempt to steal the blinds and antes. Unfortunately for Huang, his opponent in the small blind found ace-king and made the call. An ace from space landed on the flop and that was all she wrote. Huang is out as his run of final tables here in Queenstown comes to an end.

Allan Will Not Be Winning Back-to-Back Queenstown Titles

Level 11 : 900/1,800, 200 ante

The reigning ANZPT Queenstown champion Dave Allan has just been eliminated. We didn't catch the hand, but we are told that Allan jammed all in preflop for around 26,000 and Chiu Yeung Lee tanked for well over five minutes before calling with {q-}{q-}. Allan held {6-}{6-} and couldn't find a lucky third six to survive.
