Shoulda Bailed

Nico Behling now finds himself out in 35th place ($30,000 AUD) after an untimely move with {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} sent him barreling into Fouad Chaptini's pocket aces.

All of the money found the middle before the flop, and Behling did manage to pair his eight on the flop, but the turn and river both blanked out and Behling joined the rail.

After the hand, Chaptini stacked up just over 200,000 in chips.

Kicker Trouble

Preflop, Christoph Urbach open shoved 100,000 from the button with Kosmas Dratsas making in the small blind.

Urbach: {A-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Dratsas: {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

Both players hit the {A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop, but when the board completed {6-Clubs}, repeat {2-Spades}, Urbach's queen kicker player to double up.

Urbach has 210,000. Dratsas drops to 400,000.

Easy as Mizzi

Arthur Basha has doubled up.

The chips went in preflop with Basha holding {k-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} and Sorel Mizzi with {A-Diamonds}{j-Spades}.

The {8-Spades}{10-Clubs}{10-Spades} hit neither player. The {j-Clubs} turn was a Mizzi card, but left the possibility of a straight for Basha at the river.

That possibility was realized with an {A-Spades} that made Mizzi two pair, but broadway for Basha.

Basha has 410,000. Mizzi drops to 755,000.

Matthew Rolfe Eliminated in 36th Place ($30,000 AUD)

Gus Hansen has just moved back over the 400,000 mark in chips with the elimination of opponent Matthew Rolfe in 36th place.

Rolfe opened the pot with a raise to 20,000 and when the action folded around the table to Hansen in the big blind, he moved all in putting Rolfe to a decision for the remainder of his chips. Rolfe made the call, tabling {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} and soon found out that he'd be racing Hansen's pocket sevens.

The ensuing board ran out {6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and Hansen's sevens held up to win the pot, eliminating Rolfe from the tournament.

After the hand, Hansen stacked up just over 400,000 in chips.

Players on Dinner Break

We had a small connection issue here; our apologies. The players have gone on a 75-minute dinner break and will resume play in Studio 3 with 6 tables of six-handed play.

Annette Starting to Maker Her Move

We caught up wth the action on the flop with the board reading {9-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. Annette Obrestad led out for 28,000, and Peter Aristidou raised to 80,000. This sent Obrestad into a bit of a tank session.

Obrestad finally moved all in, and was quickly called by Aristidou who had {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}. Obrestad, however had {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for a set. The {10-Clubs} turn card, and the {7-Spades} river made the double up complete. Obrestad is now back in business with 600,000.

BananaThief Busted

Aleks Brkovic was eliminated from the tournament in 37th place by big stack Frederik Jensen.

Jensen opened the pot with a raise to 16,000 from the cutoff and when the action reached Brkovic in the big blind, he moved all in for about 170,000.  Jensen made the call and a showdown ensued:

Jensen:  {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}
Brkovic:  {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

The {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} flop left Brkovic drawing to a running royal flush or quads, but the turn brought the {2-Diamonds}, leaving Brkovic officially drawing dead.

After the hand, Jensen improved to 1.1 million in chips.
